Isn’t mesothelioma from abspestos (sp)?

Both. It’s super common among coal miners.

Probably from aerosolized silica dust which is a simpler crystal structure of what makes up asbestos. I havent done any research, just based on my xp in healthcare. Silica is in all rocks for the most part. Jack hammering it dust bombs you

That sounds right, ‘silicosis’ is another nasty one with a similar prevalence among coal workers.

Silicosis is the disease processes that result from silica scarring and damaging tissues primarily lungs, kidneys and heart. along with seeping into hard muscle and doing evil things.

We have evidence based studies and theories showing some processes by which we think asbestos attacks the pleura, but the exact mechanisms aren't 100% proven/known. Silicosis and asbestosis and/or mesothelioma's relationship is quite interesting and many unknowns exist for how they are related physiologically.

Silicosis is a lung disease caused by inhaling crystalline silica dust, leading to inflammation, scarring, and difficulty breathing, often occurring in occupations involving construction, mining, and quarrying
