Beware of scam posts selling merch
Text of this post is borrowed from this great post by /u/inignot12
There have been a series of posts, coming in waves, over the past months, using art stolen from creators on bogus products and using scam links/accounts.
The two main pieces of art they use are "Friend of Garak" Original available here
One example of a scam post: https://reddit.com/r/DeepSpaceNine/comments/scv9ut/this_is_one_of_the_supreme_purchases_ive_ever_made/
To elaborate, if you are ever suspicious of a post, check OP's profile, it's usually the same MO.
The account is usually only a few months old, old enough to bypass account age thresholds to post on most subs, but definitely not a long standing account.
They have posts or comments that are super generic, usually on larger subs like " Couldn't agree more" "this 100%" or other innocuous karma farming posts or comments, this is to evade karma thresholds to post on most subs. They won't have a LOT of karma, just enough to post on smaller subs though.
Spot the vote manipulation. They will HEAVILY bot any comments calling them out, so the comments drop to bottom, or the users delete them for fear of downvotes.
DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS ON POSTS LIKE THIS. Typically they will post links to totally shady URLs you've never heard of, they will take your money and send you nothing.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
Edit: FURTHERMORE, check the replies to posts like this, this one had sock puppets (zero karma, brand new account) stating they own this shirt.

No one in my personal life gets it lol
I recently bought a replica of a Bajoran earring. I love it so much and it brings me joy even looking at it! I posted a picture on Instagram and jokingly said I’d give points to whoever knew what it was. Only 2 people responded and neither was correct but no one else even responded or knew! I have no one in my personal life who has even watched any of the Star Trek iterations, nevertheless love and adore them as much as I do. It feels lonely lol and when I tell people I love Star Trek they almost seem to be laughing or trying not to laugh. I don’t get it! It’s an incredible collection of shows and movies and it provides a hopeful, albeit over optimistic, view of what the world could be. And I don’t even mean the technobabble and sci fi elements, I mean even from a humanitarian perspective. Inclusive, humanity has (largely) moved past wars and poverty etc, it’s all about educational and cultural advancement and peace. I don’t understand, especially in today’s horrifying political and social climate, why more people aren’t drawn to this franchise. Just wanted to rant a little lol

S03E03 - House of Quark - Gowron tossing the Ferengi tablet always gets me.
Gowron trying to follow along as Quark walks him through what I can only assume is an excel pivot table, gets frustrated and tosses the tablet. LOL.

Romulans
Anyone else feel like it’s odd that DS9 teases recurring Romulan characters only to not use them multiple times? It’s weird how little they are used on the series despite them being so important, especially later on.

Commodore Jellico? Absolutely!
We know that the Alpha Quadrant fleet at the big battles was organized along territorial lines (Romulan, Klingon, Federation) and that the Federation component was further organized into wings. We know that Sisco got the glory with his fast movers (Defiant, Akira, Miranda, fighters), but who commanded the "Brick Wall" of Galaxy and Sovereign Class starships?
"Commodore" Jellico. At least, that's who I would imagine is in command. Jellico was a no nonsense taskmaster who saw the Big Picture better than anyone, including Picard. He made the hard decisions, demanded the best without apology.
When the Jem'Hadar and the Breen are absolutely pounding the center of the Alpha Quadrant Fleet, inflicting incredible damage on these Star Fleet dreadnoughts, guess who wouldn't buckle or show any doubt about the battle plan for even one second? Jellico.
At least, that's what I imagined. What say you?

Where was O’Brien getting strip searched?
I just watched ds9 se07 ep15, Badda-Bing Badda-Bang. I don’t get the holosuite. Doesn’t it always look really small whenever they ‘end program’? How are there 8 people in there in different rooms seemingly far from each other, all at the same time?

Favourite character from DS9?
Mine is a tie between Nog,Quark,or Worf. For me Nogs character development was just so good, and I just loved his character.I only wish he was more of a main character!

S4 ep6 - Starship Down
This is up there with my favourite episodes. I feel like it's got a bit of everything - but my favourite moment is where O'Brien approaches Worf to challenge him on how he's dealing with the Engineering staff. It takes some big balls to challenge a Klingon like that and suggest a different approach - even if they do have a history together of sorts. Kudos to Worf too for not pinning him to a bulkhead.

The Best of All Star Treks
Deep Space Nine the Best of all Star Trek
I always liked Star Trek, the Original Series and TNG. A few years ago, I happened to catch an old episode of DS9. I had never seen it before. I immediately fell in love with it and binge watched all seven seasons in a few days. DS9 is absolutely the best of Star Trek. It may even be the best of TV in general. Last year, I began to write a podcast mostly about the aftermath of Hurricane Ian upon my little Island Town, but my last Podcast is about Deep Space Nine, including a poem. If interested, to to TikTok. My name is karenoffmb. The lasted Podcast is called In the Palish Moonlight. About to start a fight with this one Spoiler
I’ve seen the whole show through several times, so I don’t want to be told that I “just don’t get it” or anything of the like.
I’m on a mission to find at least one other person who doesn’t hate S1:E10, “Move Along Home.” I love this episode. I don’t care that the actors hated it, I don’t care that the Wadi were a dumb first race through the wormhole, and I don’t care that it “damaged the characters.” The character development was in total infancy at that point in time. If it really did that much damage, the show wouldn’t be loved. I think it was fun and did quite a lot for quark’s character, and it made me laugh.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the best or even close, that will always go to episodes like “The Visitor,” “In the Pale Moonlight,” or “For the Uniform.” I just don’t hate this episode, and I certainly don’t think it’s the worst. That title should be reserved for “Time’s Orphan,” “Profit and Lace,” or “Let He who is Without Sin.”
Thoughts, comments, and mobs welcome! Let me know what you think.

A Stitch In Time
I just finished listening to "A Stitch In Time", Andrew Robinson's autobiography of plain and simple Garak.
Is this the best Trek novel ever?
Possibly.
If you want an amazing in depth character study of a flawed anti-hero, political theory, espionage, the role of mysticism in a modern society, fan service, plus a meditation on living with regrets when ageing, this is for you.

Oh, Ilario. (spoiler) Spoiler
Reached Field of Fire in my rewatch and I’m (marginally) annoyed at this episode more than on other watches. That puppy dog hero worship lead up really did its job getting us to like him. Maybe his cousin Oliver potential was greater than Ezri’s.

Is there someplace I get Bajoran style earrings?
My ears aren't pierced, but I think it would be neat to have a Bajoran style clip on earring that attaches at the top and bottom of the ear and connects with a chain.

His way
When the world looks awful, I find refuge in DS9. Today, on this sad day of this depressing week, I saw His Way, Odo trying to loosen up and embrace his feelings and somehow life seems better. When you are feeling down, I prescribe some DS9.
