100,000 seems likely but not all at once . There were 3 different protests against Trump but they were all at the Mall. People were walking back and forth.
Indianapolis here. Much smaller but I heard people estimate 2-3,000. The news articles I read said nationwide it drew “thousands” or “tens of thousands”…. Like wtf?!? There were protests in 50 states and the big ones were huge like you said. I’m pissed that they’re massively downplaying it!!
But also good job going. It really feels better when even a few people are expressing their shock and anger, when it’s a demonstration this big it’s amazing, and you’re part of making it happen!
Well idk if this counts but I officially re-registered?(if that’s a word) as a Democrat because I’ve been an independent since I was 18 and I signed up to volunteer for the Democrat Party locally.
I’ll add one more note: if you were at the DC protest and you threw your fucking sign on the ground without bothering to look for a trashcan I will find you and fuck your mom… in a video game. I picked it up for you dickheads…
I’m a gender non-conforming bi-lesbian queer nonbinary-presenting feminist with ADHD, PTSD, BPD, HDDVD, FMJ, TMJ, HIV and using he/him/xi/xer/they/them pronouns.
(Edit: I know the comment was a joke but my guy I have a fucking 5 O’clock shadow, I don’t know many lesbians that shave their face daily…)
Tons, some were at this protest, unfortunately most were marching exclusively at the Pro-Palestinian/Anti-Zionist march. But to reiterate there was a wide variety of ages where I was, and the Protest itself seemed to consist of college aged volunteers.
Even in my relatively small town there’s a little park at a semi-major intersection that will occasionally have a few people will standing there with signs when there’s elections or such things. Today it was packed on all four corners, the most people I’ve ever seen gathered there. In the rain.
I’m Canadian and I got to see DC last year for a conference before all of this chicanery. It actually made me emotional when I walked into the Lincoln Memorial, where the loudest echoes were not from my footsteps but the Gettysburg Address. You Americans have something special, please keep fighting for it
Why are US protests so much more soy compared to European ones? I support the cause but the branding is a bit cringe. The little signs the Congress members had when Trump was giving his first speech was something else. You need more French over there to show you how to do it.
I mean what I posted was only a very small section of a very large protest. Not sure if you’re familiar with the National Mall but it was practically filled with protesters. The Washington Monument hill had people crowding it all the way around, 360 degrees.
I guess I just wanted to see more fire, but I've been reassured by a fellow dgga that firebombs have indeed been thrown at Teslas. So consider me satiated.
I mean you can say that but I’ll just show you the Metro card I used to get into DC, I can post the clip of my mom crying on TV and me standing behind her trying to comfort her in the same outfit I was wearing in the selfie, I can upload the video I took of the speaker from the right side of the stage and match it with the live audio from C-SPAN and I can show you my approximate location in Maryland and why I was able to make it to DC today….
Or I could just upload some of the pictures I took including a unique selfie from the Washington monument I took and tell you to fuck off…
And just for shits and giggles as proof that it is me, this is me without the sunglasses, shirtless, while taking a shit which is what I’m doing right now because I just made it home…
