Very good job. Felt cathartic to see you guys protest, made me genuinely happy. Over 1000 different protest all over the country.

Keep it up!

Trump's tariffs were calculated by ChatGPT
 in  r/LivestreamFail  4d ago

A better question would be, how did the AI get it so wrong. An answer like this has to include how demonstrable bad it is for trade and prosperity overall.

I mean, we both know we can strangle each other and get a balanced amount of oxygen and be on an even playing field (lying on the ground). That doesn't make it a good idea.

Guess the AI devs didn't anticipate an orange leader with a small brain could misuse their AI like that.

Trump Says He Won’t Rule Out Third Reich
 in  r/Destiny  6d ago

I think It's a play on words him not denying the idea of a 3rd term in office.

“Reich” meaning empire or realm in German, so implying a ruler, would technically make It Americas first Reich, If Trump would successfully destroy democracy to make himself a dictatorial ruler.

FAFO... Murica!
 in  r/Asmongold  11d ago

You are wrong that was settled by Trump in CUMSA or USMCA in 2017, and those tariffs where raised in response over the dispute while negotiating those trade deals. So still in response to America crying about Trade deficits in 2017.

  • Trump started it
  • Trump and Canada and Merxico negotiated on it
  • And now Trump is crying about it again

FAFO... Murica!
 in  r/Asmongold  11d ago

Trump started the trade war, FAFO doesn't make much sense here.

IF you are fine with paying 20% more for products made in America that's fair, but don't expect to export and sell any of these products anywhere else in the world at the same time.

The harsh reality of democracy, more than any other form of government, is that it functions only so long as both the population at large and those within the governing institutions act in accordance with its principles.

I get that and that is a given in every democracy.

I am not even talking about population or public consensus either yet, only looking at the 3 branches of American government and how they interact. They seem to be a joke frankly!

One Branch already way too powerful can overstep his powers, one can choose to not do its job at all and the third one is effectively powerless and can't enforce anything without the populous.

Effectively you have one bad actor with a mandate of roughly maybe 30% of the population, and he can fuck your system?

Correct me If I am wrong, but that sounds like a pretty shitty design, no?

I agree, but that should just make them complicit. I think checks and balances aren't optional; they're a necessary responsibility to partake in.

Edit: Writing this, I learned that Congress is not criminally liable for failing to check the other branches (as they should be, in my opinion). But doesn't that mean that checks and balances are only an illusion in America?
Recently, I learned that ignoring court orders (from the Judicial Branch) is fine, and abusing wartime powers/authorities like the Alien Enemies Act doesn’t have real consequences either.
Does all this lead to the ultimate conclusion that democracy in America never had the guardrails in place to keep bad actors, like Trump, in check?

Is It just me, or is Netanyahu starting to *actually become* what the protesters were saying Israel was all last year?
 in  r/Destiny  13d ago

If you are just talking about Netanyahu, he has been that since the very start. He is a mobster just like Trump that cannot lose power, or he will go to prison. I think they called him the crime minister at some point.

People knew this and still elected him…

Good luck getting rid of people clinging to power like this in the foreseeable future. :)

Andrew Sullivan: "I do not care about the economy if the government in this country claims it can break down anyone's doors, seize anyone with no due process, put them on a plane, and send them to a foreign jail ... The last person who did that in this country was called George III."
 in  r/WeTheFifth  15d ago

“Stop yelling at us”…?

Everyone should yell like this at literally everyone who isn't, unless you want to become Russia 2.0.
This is the time to decide what country you want to be. Do you want to throw everything you once stood for away and make space for Russia, China, or India to decide how we behave on the world stage? Or do you want to yell as loud as you can so you and your children can keep living in a free country with the global goal of a free world?

Yeah, sure, things might not be perfect right now. Maybe you're discontent or afraid of things said or shown on social media. But you have it better than probably 90% of the world's population right now. The way to the bottom is deep and dark.
It can get so much worse if you don't do anything now.

You might be right, maybe I don't understand the system correctly, as It stands it does not make any sense to me whatsoever.

The statistic on its own doesn't really say much, It only says that we enforced our own “catch and back to Mexico” policy and I am sick of these dumb propaganda posts tbh.

Your opinion matters to me, if that means anything. If it didn't, I wouldn't engage with you. As your opinion on me, that doesn't matter much. We are two strangers talking over the Internet to each other.
