Sports The Pistons just beat the reigning champs in Boston to win 8 straight games. This has not been done since 2008😳
Pistons basketball has never been more back

Huge turnaround from last year! I can't wait to see them in the postseason!

Ron Holland is 19.
Jalen Duren is 21.
Ausar Thompson is 22.
Cade Cunningham is 23.
Jaden Ivey is 23.
Isaiah Stewart is 23.
The Pistons are so young man it’s crazy. Whole team can play together for 4-5 years and develop into something monstrous

Oh wow. Such a young team thats only gonna be more of a problem for other teams in the coming years.

u/jus256 Feb 27 '25
When do they have to start paying? Some of those contracts should be about to expire.

Cade got the max extension to his rookie deal, Stew got extended last year. Ivey and Duren are up next, still a bit of time for Ron Holland and Ausar

Thanks for this info. Damn that’s exciting. Not a selfish player on this team either.

I'm honestly shocked Isaiah Stewart is only 23. For some reason I thought he was like 27.

If local sports didn’t cost $20/month to watch, I would have seen it too. I’m not paying extra money to watch sports and I can’t remember to watch on a torrent.

To me its not even the $20 that's the barrier its the fact that the Fanduel Sports Network app is crappily written piece of garbage. I had it back in January and it would blank my screen if I tried to play a steam game like Slay the Spire while watching a game, and then they don't even have an app for my LG TV. And even when its working it constantly bugs out and freezes and displays their stupid splash screen you never know if its going to resolve.

Word is Amazon is going to start streaming it, like an add-on sub similar to other networks. That should help a lot
5
u/jus256 Feb 27 '25
I heard the other day, the add on is $20. It’s not included in your prime subscription.

u/eatmorefootball Feb 27 '25
Yes, but it will be a much better platform than the POS fanduel app. Wish i hadn’t renewed my sub for this year so i could just watch on Amazon.

u/Healthy-Marketing-26 Feb 27 '25
Thats how all the add on subs are, Amazon isn't in the business of giving you much for free other than returns and shipping

u/jus256 Feb 27 '25
Are they charging extra for Thursday Night NFL?
1
u/Healthy-Marketing-26 Feb 27 '25
No, because thats theirs and doesn't air anywhere else thats not illegal. Things like PBS kids costs more, but is better than the standalone app so its worth it for some people

They do and I signed up for fan duel on Monday. It’s watched through Amazon prime video. I have not had any streaming issues at home or on mobile. But damn the commercials are only cure auto insurance and injury lawyers. I thought I was a kid again home sick. All I needed was a vernors and the price is right to make me feel better. lol

I don't live in Michigan anymore but I'm still a hometown fan.
You can't watch the Pistons on a local OTA channel anymore????

NBA League Pass is incredible if you're out of market.
Just the best sports league streaming option around.

Takes 2 seconds to load it up on a stream.

Right now I have YouTube Tv. If local sports were part of my package like they used to be with FSD, the game would show up at the top of the screen as soon as I turned on the TV. I’m not constantly looking at schedules to see when games are coming on. I don’t watch games on a phone.

u/pardybill Feb 27 '25
While I don’t disagree with the sentiment, you can usually rock a web browser on your tv and favorite the site to stream it not on a phone. PlayStation web browser and Samsung TVs I’ve found are pretty decent.

u/jus256 Feb 27 '25
I don’t own any Samsung TVs and I don’t currently need a new one. Although there is a PlayStation in the house, I’m not about to move it to the main TV upstairs.

u/pardybill Feb 27 '25
If you use Roku/firestick they usually have web browsers built in too. Xbox does but I’ve found their edge based browser to not work great due to pop ups.
But yeah it sucks man. I’m in the same boat for hockey games.

u/jradz12 Feb 27 '25
Alright. East streams. You're welcome.

u/Godunman Feb 28 '25
It’s been low quality and laggy for me for a little while now. If it’s a must watch thing, sure I’ll use it. But day in and day out it’s a pain especially on a TV.

Pistons basketball has never been more back
after last year, who would've believed a 1-game win streak?
2
u/Unlikely_Sandwich_ Feb 27 '25
Pistons are going to win more playoff games than the Lions this year.

I'm trying to figure which team has had the most dramatic turnaround. The Pistons after the worst season ever, the Red Wings after a coaching change or the Lions midway thru the 2022 season.

u/PurpleSubtlePlan Feb 27 '25
That's swell, but don't the Celtics have two NBA Championships since 2008 while the Pistons have none?
