To think this team is in, or almost close to, the playoffs after that ugly stretch past season is remarkable.

Hey, it’s always darkest before the dawn, especially with a new coach. Just ask the Lions. Sometimes it just takes a minute to start firing on all cylinders.

I haven’t had so much fun watching the Pistons since the 2000s.

They almost beat OKC last weekend, the top ranked western conference team. Absolutely crazy bounce back from last year!

The Pistons have been leaving some signed shoes out in the city for people to find, baller move. My co-worker found a pair of shoes signed by Malik Beasley right outside LCA. And Cade is a dog, they are trying to make this city excited for basketball again and it’s working.

I can't even imagine worshipping someone 100 percent less fit and smart than me (he sucks at developing).

Cade is becoming a genuine NBA superstar in real time, and I'm here for it.

Also, human rights aren't politics.

I am talking a bit more about Generic Politics here.

You could cut out the first sentence and it wouldn't change a thing about your post.

While politics are definitely driving engagement across social media, it's unfortunate the world isn't neatly separated into political and non-politcal categories like you wish.

Also this sub doesn't seem that political?

u/spectre1210 16d ago

Not overtly, but it increased with the election and Trump winning and then administering/acting like he does has only sustained that longer than it would have it Harris had won.

I don't pretend this platform doesn't have a liberal lean. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it should be taken into account.

Politics should always be an open conversation. The way it is now and how it needs to be brought into everything, and how people only upvote/discuss things that are political is a shame.

I wear blue jeans I get called a Democrat, and drive a red car I am a Republican. Its the world we live in. I wish people just focused more on the things they have control over more. Protest, let your voice be heard and VOTE!

Isn't upvoting or downvoting literally a form of voting though and inherently political since this is a public forum?

1

u/Envyforme 16d ago

Yes it is. I will not lie about that. Also at the same time, it's a shame it's become number one across the board.

If you want get people angry, just mention that he's a vegan.

Any game where he "only" scores 25 and gets 9 rebounds and 9 assists, and someone will blame it on his diet.

Wow that’s pretty cool. Is he really?

u/timothythefirst 16d ago

Yeah he has been since high school

I try not to purposefully make people angry.

As long as the Red Wings stay in playoff contention, this is shaping up to the the best April In The D in ten years

Thank you! This sub has become totally insufferable since the election. This is content we want!

No problem. Always have an open mindset coming from me. Also listen in to peoples complaints. Encourage the good in life and the things people can control as I always say!

You're on reddit. Everything on the site is about politics right now.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

But seriously. Even if the East stinks, it's nice to see the Pistons relevant again for the first time since 2008.

I realize they made the playoffs three times after '08. But those squads felt more like fringe teams that didn't provide much hope for improvement.

Incoming foul language.

But what does Cade Cunningham think about Ukraine?

Omg sports are for the easily entertained.

I'm guessing you haven't played a sport and thus can't recognize human greatness? You think art is worthless too, right? Recognizing human greatness is a fulfillment aspect of life and helps you strive to greatness. I guess if you say it's worthless you're just a consumer that has never created anything that anyone cared about.

u/NoHeartAnthony1 16d ago

that's... a compliment?

u/Envyforme 17d ago

No offense, I can say the same thing about politics.

Politics has real life consequences, often very serious ones, for most people’s lives. If you’re privileged enough that you can ignore politics, good for you. Most are not so lucky.

I guess I can say I am privileged. I also worked my ass off for it. Bit of luck here and there. No matter what I do and do though, it's always about privilege. People just yell that card and never learn how I got here. Let's talk policy and how to make the world a better place. I'm an open book. Others close the door by calling me privileged without convo

2

u/AcadiaWonderful1796 16d ago

Respectfully, privilege is not just something you can earn. A lot of it is the way you are born. The fact that you are able to see politics as entertainment rather than life or death tells me that you were born in this country, almost certainly white, male, heterosexual, and christian or christian adjacent. Anyone who is not one of those things is in serious danger due to the policies that are being enacted at the federal level and in many states. What is entertainment for you is causing immense harm to many peoples lives.

u/Envyforme 15d ago

The term privilege is too vague and doesn't help anyone then. I grew up in a tough place and tons of mental illnesses. I was told I was never going to live alone until I was 19. I was able to work through that and now everyone calls me privileged. It's more on the people that currently have things compared to those that don't. Not from how you were born coming from me.
