Non European here, why's the hand yellow and red? It kind of looks like the Romanian flag but that feels random to me
81
u/GandaArt 8d ago
Well, considering the past few months, I felt like making a statement. Romania has been under a constant threat from both Russia and the US, see the news, it's been quite chaotic over here. So I felt like sending a message, that's all.

Cancellation of the election result and arrest of the candidate.
Excellent democracy.
We only had this under Yeltsin, the Western puppet.

As i said in another reply that i'll copy now because i'm too lazy to deal with the bs:
"That candidate you're talking about is a fascist. And we don't like fascists in Romania. He had friendships and affiliations with mercenaries that plotted to overthrow the government (they found bombs and guns in their homes, search about Horatiu Potra). He glorified Holocaust personalities, made racist comments and was a thread to our democracy (besides being fully crazy and a conspirationist, as an idea, he even talked about meeting aliens and lots of other crazy stuff like going back "to communicating through thelepathy". I'm not joking at all) Yeah, propaganda works well because extremists are loud and violent, but most romanians do not support him and agree with the constitutional court's decisions."

You're in no position to judge wether what Romania did is democratic or not, ruski. Your country kills opposition candidates. Remember Alexey Navalny? Yeah, fuck off, you have no right to judge us for blocking your infiltrated agent, fuck you very much!

Very interesting. I wonder if you hold up that oppinion if someone close to you found out that you want genocide
2
u/andre_wechseler 7d ago
I did not say anything about genocide, but I feel that most Europeans would feel indifferent about it, if it happened to Russians. However my initial statement was aimed at the occurring sentiment „Russians are not bad, only manipulated and oppressed by Putin, they don’t want to fight the war and don’t deserve to die in the trenches“, which clearly is BS.

u/MadJazzz 7d ago
Answering to racism with a wish for genocide is possibly even more disgusting than the garbage you were replying to. I suggest you remove that comment. I don't understand who upvotes dirt like this.

Romania has cancelled the victory of the president independent of the left fascists and banned him from running again. These days they have become a reference point for all leftists in the matter of abolishing democracy

u/blood__drunk 8d ago
I reckon they're going for the German flag given it's the biggest economy in EU. Black coming from the background. But maybe I'm reaching.
11
u/GandaArt 7d ago
No lol, the romanian flag is blue-yellow-red so it fits nicely considering where romania is on the map, that's all. The gray is purely for the negativity coming from those two.
-9
u/Resident_Ad6132 7d ago
The Romanians canceld their election because a candidate who no political analyst had on their radar, is a Trump fan and wanted to stop aid to Ukraine won the first round of elections, after not telling the public why for three months they acused him of a lot of things like basically being a lair and pro Russian and now he is excluded from running as a candidate and the Romanians are to my knowledge not happy about that. The candidate is called Călin Georgescu btw
13
u/GandaArt 7d ago

Most Romanians votet for him
12
u/GandaArt 7d ago
*Two million people voted, most of whom didn’t even know who he was and voted simply because they didn’t know who else to choose—some even regretted their decision. That’s not ‘most Romanians,’ considering that about 19 million have the right to vote(worldwide).
-10
u/Resident_Ad6132 7d ago
You still don't just cancel a election
14
u/GandaArt 7d ago
You do cancel election if a candidate is not respecting constitutional laws, it's stated in our constitution. And especially if the candidate is a fascist. We can cancel election based on our constitutional laws if a candidate doesn't respect our laws, values and principles.
8
u/romainaninterests 7d ago
You do cancel an election when of the candidates who broke virtually every rule in the democratic playbook is present and an iminent threat to destroy the democratic foundations of your republic/democracy. Look up anything that this guy has said and done and you will realise, through the use of common sense that cancelling the election was in defense of democracy.
5
u/romainaninterests 7d ago
Incorrect. Not true. False. There was a 52% turnout for the anulled first round, and of those 52% present, 23% voted for him. That's not even a majority of the people who turned out to vote. So claiming most Romanians voted for him is just plain wrong.
5
u/LexerWAY 7d ago
Trust me , Romanians are happy about that, otherwise we would be in the streets protesting this decision. When a protest was organized by the pro Russian party, they had to pay people to come, and even then not even 20 k people showed up.
You are just repeating the Elon/Trump propaganda.
5
u/BagPulaInCenzuraTa89 7d ago
As a romanian, I confirm that we hate Călin Georgescu and the ruski barbarians.
3
u/SubjectNegotiation88 7d ago
The "candidate" didn't declare any election spending, and was meeting with a pro-russian merceney in the woods
-9
u/Guts2021 7d ago
It was dictated by the EU. They cannot accept a pro Romanian politician. They need a puppet who obeys the EU government
6
u/GandaArt 7d ago
Did the EU sent the guns and ammunition to our country for the mercenaries that wanted to overthrow the government? Simply answer to this.
2
u/LexerWAY 7d ago

No, US is trying to establish connections with those who want dialogue.
Eu refuses to even talk.
They just want to continue to escalate hostilities with EVERYONE. They don't want to listen to any arguments. They only accept total agreement with their impossible terms, and if not - isolation, conflict, war.
Now they even ban and boycott goods from other civilizations. Because now everyone is their enemy somehow.
No jeans for the North Koreans. No Levi's for the Europeans.
While China is selling cheap modern cars to Russia and the US is doing everuthing it can to fix the broken relations instead of making them worse.
US sounds like a country that we can deal with, while Europe is so hateful and hostile that they're is just no point in talking to them.
This is why they are not included in peace talks about Ukraine.
2
u/259yt 6d ago
No for real, get the fuck out of your bubble, threatening to take over other countries land is the worst way to "talk" and "deescalate". But damn Putin must have the longest dick if your favourite president manages to suck it from the White House.
1
u/TeoGeek77 5d ago
I am sure one day you will learn how to communicate with people that you disagree with, without being rude or offensive.
1
u/259yt 5d ago
That was not communication, but cursing and insult.
1
u/TeoGeek77 5d ago
Insults begin when arguments end.
When you add insults, your words lose their importance and weight.
Especially in a disagreement.

...and refusing to send more aid to Ukraine...
6
u/GandaArt 7d ago
Actually, our government just approved more aid to Ukraine yesterday.
1
u/DFMRCV 7d ago
No, it pledged more money to Ukraine.
Same for France and Sweden and other EU member nations.
Paired with the EU's dependence on Russian oil, it doesn't even balance out.
3
u/draggingonfeetofclay 7d ago
Weaning yourself off an addiction has its growing pains, yes and probably won't happen overnight.
But it's not hopeless either.
1
u/DFMRCV 7d ago
I would agree had Europe surpassed it in donations to Ukraine.
They haven't.
The fact is, the EU has technically given more financial aid to RUSSIA than Ukraine since the war started.
Like...
That's the equivalent of the US giving a million dollars to Nazi Germany while sending lend lease to Britain... Except even worse, because the US isn't sharing the continent!
Paired with MOST military aid being from the US even now, and OP's image is painfully hypocritical to anyone that has actually bothered doing even basic research.
1
u/Significant_Many_454 7d ago
Huh? Romania doesn't import Russian oil..

The EU doing a middle finger to Romanian elections by canceling it in the name of democracy!!!
Nice democracy Ursula von Dictator.
10
u/GandaArt 7d ago
Oooorrr, maybe Romanians really didn’t want a fascist in power and we did our job to defend democracy. How about that?
0
u/Idontknowlololloll 7d ago
Funny how you claim that "romanians" don't want him in power, yet he gained the majority. In addition, you didn't do anything. It was the EU elected bureaucrats which saw him as a threat to their power and strangle over romanian polticis, so they removed him.
Romanian democracy has failed.
+ not everybody you disagree with is a fascist.6
u/lol_JustKidding 7d ago
He didn't gain any majority, otherwise he would've become a president after the 1st round. Maybe go learn how the electoral process works before talking about failed democracies...
2
u/Idontknowlololloll 6d ago
He gained the most votes + he would have defiantly gotten the majority in the final round due to the votes not being split between them, AUR and so on.
I like how you didn’t even say something against the actual problem I’m talking about, you only mentioned that I claimed that he got ”majority” Because you know this is unjust and undemocratic. If something like this happened against Trumps political opponents or someone else you dislike, you would riot and talk about it endlessly. Talk about hypocrisy
1
u/TheDeceiver43 5d ago
I think you are unfamiliar with WHY he was not allowed to participate in the election.
Also, it was not the EU that cancelled the election but the Romanian courts. The EU asked for an explanation, as they were just as confused And Mr. "Sovereign independent, I didn't invest any money" even went to cry about it to the EU, which he hates oh so much.
-4
u/Guts2021 7d ago
You know how a democratic vote is working? The candidate had won the election. What the EU does is totalitarian. But no surprises for me. Just look who is on top of the EU, people like von der Leyen
5
u/GandaArt 7d ago
The candidate broke our constitutional laws, no candidate for presidency can do that and the decision was completely fair. You can read our constitution any time you want. Russian propaganda will not work in Romania, we've been fighting them for centuries and we can always tell when they are involved
-6
u/Guts2021 7d ago
How exactly did he break those rules? In doing what? Wasn't he just very popular by using TikTok?
6
u/adrianCosminB 7d ago
He openly idolizes historical romanian fascists, which is illegal in Romania, he declared 0 spending in his campaign, which was a blatant lie (also illegal obviously), among many other things. If you do not know these details, stop spreading missinformation about this topic. Our country has many problems, but this time democracy was actually protected not attacked. Thank you.
5
u/GandaArt 7d ago
I answered to this question a lot. Just go and read our constitution if you are curious about it
3
u/Used_Cheek_9419 7d ago
Im Romanian and majority of us are agreeing with you, but here on reddit are some people who spread this type propaganda probably they are paid or have something in common/work with the goverment. They stole our right to vote, they ended pur democracy. Sad time for us Romanians…
2
u/Idontknowlololloll 6d ago
Very sad indeed. Although I doubt these people are paid or work with the government in any way. It’s just the standard thinking of most people ”EU DOES SOMETHING = GOOD”. They want to live in a dreamy land where EU is the staple of democracy in the world and is ”defiant against all evils!!!”.
But we all know it’s not like that.

u/bswontpass 8d ago
Trump is bad for asking EU to stop buying oil/gas from Russia or for demanding significant increase in spending on military so europeans can defend themselves?
12
u/BennyTheSen 8d ago
No, but for trying to blackmail all his allies, especially Ukraine.Threatening Mexico, Canada, Panama, EU countries. Starting a trade war. Destroying democracy with help of his billionaire sugar daddy's. And the list could go on forever.
3
u/GandaArt 8d ago
He needs more money for that special K, heard it's cheaper in Russia so maybe there's a deal going on🙃

Trump is asking Europe to restart buying gas from Russia. I know facts have a hard time getting through to St. Petersburg, but at least get your propaganda updated, rusbot
-2
u/bswontpass 8d ago
I'm not sure where do you get this bullshit from.
Trump demanded increase in military spending from NATO members since his last term. He also demanded EU to quit russian pipelines since the his last term.
Both are well summarized in one meeting - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpwkdmwui3k

Trump is bad for asking EU to stop buying oil/gas from Russia
If that bothers him, then why is everything he does benefitting Russia? Pot calling the kettle black.
or for demanding significant increase in spending on military so europeans can defend themselves?
Europe is, didn't make a difference. We could spend twice the amount the US does on military and it still wouldn't make a difference.
Therefore we can firmly conclude that both these points weren't his objective, but an excuse to achieve a goal: to isolate.
