Adding my ride to the group.
Just upgraded the radiator and added a reservoir. Now to upgrade the air ride. Shot outside a local pizza place that used to be an old auto spot.

We skipped the car show/meet and went cruising.
This pink car sits in front of this establishment for months at a time. It’s basically a contribute to the vibe of the diner. We stopped because we thought they added a new car. Come to find out it’s one of the same cars that had been siting up here just with a new pink wrap.(It was originally baby blue before)

Third seatbelt?
I have a 71 GMC Sprint. Bench seat with only two seatbelts. I want to add another lap belt in the middle so I can fit 3 people. Has anybody one this?

Stripe decal replacement
I have been replacing my old car stripe decal that has taken some damage over the years on my 1987 el Camino with a fresh new one.
While peeling off the old one, it appears to me that the previous owner of the car may have painted the vehicle black after the previous stripe was already applied. (Note the 2 different shade of blacks in pic 2 as well as the line of paint that is chipping)
What are my options here? My thoughts are to do a compound and then polish this remaining “line” and see if I can apply my new stripe slightly “higher” to avoid leaving the chipped paint exposed. Good idea or am I cooked?

That ignition is a much shorter throw, I’m going to have to get used to that. Turn signal is a much crisper, more pleasant “click”. Same with the hazard switch. Was pretty stiff at first, but broke in nicely after pushing/pulling it 25 or so times.
I wonder if my ignition switch was going out in the old one, because it seemed to fire up a bit quicker than before, and it’s been sitting for about 2 months. (New fuel tank/sending unit, water pump, power steering pump/bracket/hoses, vacuum lines all around, carb heat shield and spacer, general surface rust cleanup and coating, grounds cleaned up, etc.) The new column doesn’t have provisions for the headlight dimmer switch (only DRLs turn on), so I got a floor switch kit to wire up on my off day.
Next thing on the list is exhaust. What's currently under the car is 3" H pipe, no cats or resonators with 2-12" no name mufflers. It exits at the rear of the cab and points straight down. It's loud as hell. I went ahead and bought a couple of 12” Dynomax Race Bullets to be used in conjunction with a pair of 22” Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. Going down to 2.5” pipe with a rear exit. Should make it a little more pleasant/mild sounding as a DD.

Tail Light lens for '64 El Camino
My neighbor has a '64 El Camino in need of tail light lenses. I'd like to get them for him as a gift. He's a car collector who rescues old cars, gets them running, and drives them, trades them, always has a few in various states in his driveway. His philosophy is to do it inexpensively. He's not trying to restore to original appearance, doesn't want to spend that kind of money, prefers the patina of age. Looking for pointers/advice on how to find inexpensive lenses that will fit.
Is there another subreddit where I should post this?
The back story: This car was sitting in a field for 30-40 years. Had trees growing in the bed. Had frozen wheel bearings and brake that had to cut/hammered free and replaced. Seats were rotted and replaced with seats he pulled from a different type of car in a junk yard. He's spray painted it blue to stop it from rusting further, it's reasonably well done for a home paint job but you can tell its not professional. So, getting tail lights inexpensively aligns with his approach.

Which el Camino's have the space behind the rear seats and which ones have the fold up space in the bed?
What years have both,?
And does the lift up space on the ones that have it connect to the passenger compartment?
