Some Light...Maybe???
This is the second thing today where some republicans are breaking with cheeto. I'm going to grab onto the hope anywhere I can find it.

It's just them trying to save their own asses. They don't care about any of us. They have to pretend they're trying so they don't all get voted out.

The good news here is they are acknowledging their asses are in jeopardy. It means they know they need us, even if they don’t want us.

I don’t really care if they are doing it for self preservation or if they have started to give two shits about actual people, because we WILL vote them out if they don’t get with the program of working FOR the people.

They really do hate Trump. Almost all of them spoke out against him repeatedly, but then he won, and they had to play nice to their base. They're cowards is what they are, and it's only now that he's starting to fuck up so exquisitely and his approval ratings are dropping that they're getting enough nerve to actually say anything against him.

Few like Trump but twice Dems failed to notice how much people disliked their candidates.
The '16 election wasn't a fluke, it was a warning. The '24 election is the results of not paying attention in '16.
Everyone i know wants better candidates on both tickets. The parties are ignoring the people.

Yeah...never even thought for a moment that they care but I don't care why they break.

Wouldn't it be a surprise if we voted them out anyway? Fool me once, shame on you... Fool me twice, loose your job! IDGAF how many break away from Cheesus, use the cracks to get what we need then bam, boot them out the door. I would (and have) done worse to my own family for screwing me over like politicians are doing.

I think most on BOTH sides need to be voted out. Too many Dems who rolled over and aren't fighting back because they don't want to lose their jobs either.

I agree 100%. The liars, hypocrites, lazy and scared politicians all need to go. They have had to be replaced many times over for so many years, going back to before I was even born. The public are just so used to it they've accepted it and have had to adapt our mindset to survive, and the standard for that has steadily lowered the more we enable the government to fuck us all over.

I love the language in this and hope they don't back down. Everything they've done in changing our jobs (in my department) has been done by completely ignoring our CBAs. They haven't negotiated anything at all, just changed our working conditions.

They aren't switching, they're preparing for midterms. Those folks have no moral high ground. They just want to remain in office.

Yeah...I used the term breaking because switching to me means an ideological change vs. an - as you said - save my butt change. But when cracks start to show, cheeto's agenda hopefully takes some hits. I say hopefully because...hey, I gotta have some kind of hope.

I’m with you! Thanks for sharing the good news. This is a good sign and probably just the beginning (fingers crossed).

Wow. I’m shocked any republicans are doing anything against president musk.

Because they are losing millions, it didn't bother them that their was a threat to Social Security that would have hurt 70 million Americans, but watching their money floating away and now this is wrong. My feeling Bush killed my 401k and no one cared. I don't own any stocks, I will not be buying a car fuck all of them they deserve this. Waiting for when they start jumping out of windows.

When you pick on unions that don’t support you, pretend it’s only against unions that represent national security personnel while leaving out the border patrol union it’s clear cut revenge politics. I have little faith in anyone that’s an R right now to do the right thing. But maybe if I’m proven wrong I may change my current stance.

Politicians generally care about one thing. That’s getting reelected. There’s been a bootlicker mentality within republicans for a while. A lot of them hate Trump and disagree with what he’s doing. But they’ve been afraid that if they refuse to go along with him, he’ll back someone who will, leading to the end of their run in politics. They’re starting to recognize that this isn’t what America wants. America reelected Trump because the Biden administration (I think wrongly) was seen as the source of blame for economic issues the last few years. Biden was also honestly a weak leader. By not electing Kamala, the people who voted for Trump thought they were voting for a return to economic prosperity and more efficiency within the government. The economy is still in bad shape and getting worse. And our workforce as civil servants is in complete disarray right now. Americans are noticing. Now republicans are noticing that Americans are noticing and are trying to save themselves from getting ousted from a growingly discontent voting base.

Exactly and there’s the light I’m talking about. These cracks can hurt his power. It can catch on. It’s never going to be everyone but it only takes a few. And yes they’re still cowards and starting to worry about their own butts but I don’t care how he’s weakened, whether by those who are afraid of their own shadow or what…as long as it happens.

I'm with you. I'd like to think that it's the beginning of more "switching teams" We desperately need it to happen ASAP!
