Severance Question about getting RIFd

You are correct on Q2. No severance if you’re getting a military retirement. One of the ineligibility reasons is “and cannot be eligible for an immediate annuity from a federal civilian retirement system or from the uniformed services.” You can find it here - https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/workforce-restructuring/reductions-in-force-rif/#url=Benefits%20for%20Separated%20Employees

Not that it directly answers your questions, but make sure you read the DoD DODI on RIFs for guidance too, many pieces and guidance is very different and in some cases the complete opposite of what OPMs policies are. DoD has a totally different system/methodology for RIFs.
