EasyJet changed flight time by 6 hours

I have a flight from Paris CDG to Glasgow booked on May 29th with EasyJet. When I booked the flight the departure time was 19:20. However, yesterday I received an email saying the flight time had changed to 13:50. This new time is pretty inconvenient for me as I have something booked that afternoon. I went on the app to try and change my flight and saw there was one on the same day at 18:50, however it was trying to charge me £115 (for 2 people) to change!

Just wondering if there’s a way to go about this and get it changed without paying so much? It feels pretty unreasonable that they would charge that much considering the flight time change was out of my control

When things like this happen to me I usually just ask for a full refund. Since they significantly changed the time I'm entitled to get a refund. This only works if you didn't already accepted the new time. You can just book the new flight after.

It's more than 14 days notice so EC261 won't have as much provisions. You're probably better to contact then about rebooking as opposed to trying it online.

Call and ask for your preferred flight.

They did this to me last year, for a flight from London Gatwick to Toulouse. In the email notification, they gave me a choice between accepting the change or getting a full refund. I took the refund and booked on BA from Heathrow instead.

I am not European, so don't know if this 'accept or refund' choice must be offered for your flight.

You can no longer manage disruption online you have to call and they will change it free of charge

Respond to the email, saying that time is not acceptable. That you would accept transfer to X plane or a refund

Then book the tickets you want (which are likely cheaper than the change fee)

Easyjet has a contact email, chat, contact form and phone. What did they tell you there?

The seats you saw on that flight are probably in a higher fare category than you paid
