Help Needed Flying to Japan

My flight lands at 12:35pm in Narita Airport and I’m planning to fly to Osaka as soon as I land. I’m just wondering what time I should book my flight from Narita to Osaka. Do I need to go through immigrations and customs and do all the check in and security again? Or can i just get off my flight and hop onto another? If i have to go through all that again, I know I have to keep in mind the time for immigrations and customs line and then checking in/security. So what time should I book my next flight?

Yes immigration and customs in Narita.

You don't have much choice with flights to Osaka, 14:10 pm would be cutting it too fine and the next would be 20:10.

Yes you'll need to go through immigration, customs, change terminals, check in again.

Domestic flights out of Narita are a bit sparse as it's primarily used for international to domestic connections. Domestic flights primarily run out of Haneda as it's far more centrally located.

Maybe consider the airport train and then a Shinkansen if you have a connection that is either too short or too long. While it takes longer and can be more expensive than flying, you can rock up to the station and buy tickets for the next available train. This means less waiting around and no chance of missing your flight if you don't get there in time.

I took the Narita Express to Tokyo station and took the Hikari Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka from there. My flight at Narita landed at around 08:00 and I booked the Hikari at the 14:30 departure to allow myself time.
