GIMP 3.0.2 released

A micro-release! mostly bug fixes that emerged with so many people trying out GIMP 3.0 - a big thank you to all those who contributed, including by reporting problems.

Definitely waiting to see how this progresses. Talk about a fucked up launch.

Naah, what we are seeing is many tens of thousands of users NOT reporting problems, and a very few with problems, understandably, that we are fixing.

For some time now we have been putting processes in place to improve the releases, and we had three release candidates, but you never get the problems ironed out until there's a thousand times more users. More than 180,000 downloads of 3.0 just for Windows, just in the first day or so.

You can expect to see more frequent “micro” releases in the future - they don’t necessarily indicate a failed release, though.

Can you please confirm or deny that there is a bug in Gimp 3 when it comes to recreating or even loading it's menurc file? I'm asking for like 2 days now and I get no replies on it: https://www.reddit.com/r/GIMP/comments/1ji9lr7/gimp_3_menurc_quirks/ and https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-menurc-file-problem-with-Gimp-3

Still an issue in v3.0.2 too for me.

  • there is now a file called shortcutsrc.
