No.. There is just no need to kill the bees, eating them alive, to harvest honey. That's just cruel. Bees are amazing creatures and very important for the environment. They do a lot to help us, we should respect them.

Edit: and if I was vegan, that wouldn't change anything. Who cares what others eat?! lol

Well.. you do, no? The guy is eating bees and you care.

Don't you think eating other animals (cows, pigs, chickens,... all MUCH more sentient and capable of suffering than insects) is even more cruel and unnecessary, especially if we can just eat something else?

He did not need to kill the bees. To harvest honey, no bee must be harmed. He killed the just for entertainment. Killing for entertainment is fucked up. I do not agree with slaughtering animals in a cruel way, there are humane ways to till prey. I rarely eat meat & I don't judge others for what they decide to eat. It does not mater how sentient an animal is, every life has the same value to me. That doesn't mean I can't decide to still eat meat sometimes. I don't like most meat anyway & I don't eat dairy by I'm lactose intolerant. Most of my diet is vegan, but since I indulge sometimes, I won't call myself a vegan. I love animals, weather you believe it or not. Humans are omnivores, we can eat all sorts of things, meat is one of them.

People like you lead a lot of people to judge veganism, just so you know.. that was a huge problem about the vegan teacher too.

I'm not trying to get under your skin and if I did it anyways, I'm very sorry!  I honestly admire your empathy for the bees, most people wouldn't even think of them as beings worthy of consideration.

And just to be clear: the guy in the video is an idiot.

All I'm saying is that in the end eating meat isn't so different from cruel practices that humans do for entertainment.. like dog/bull fighting or that idiot in the video. We eat meat because we like how it tastes, not because we need eat it. The animal has to die needlessly, because we have the choice to just eat something else. Especially because we are omnivores we have that choice.

Anyways, again I'm not trying to criticize you. I'm in this process myself so sometimes I'm just asking questions when I see someone who obviously has a lot of empathy like yourself.

Thank you. I personally do see a difference in killing for fun or killing to eat, regardless if you could eat something else instead. But I do understand your viewpoint. I mean, I'm really rooting for the peti dish meat to become a thing in the future, where no animal has to die for it.

I agree that there is a difference. But that difference becomes kinda insignificant once we accept that we do have the choice of not abusing and killing animals. If we can be kind to animals, why wouldn't we do it?
