I see a whole lot of lab and absolutely no coonhound. Most coonhounds have darker colors, long wars, long snout, and big paws. Maybe they saw the other pups in the litter which looked like coonhounds and this one is an outlier.

He was surrendered at 2 years old, he wasn’t with a litter. He’s almost 3 now.

I wouldn't say your dog is pure bred lab, maybe it is and it's just poorly bred, but it looks so much like a yellow lab that I wouldn't even add the title of "mix" when saying their breed. If I had to guess what other breed is in your pup, I might say some kind of bully breed because they have a blockier head, but even that is a stretch.

Thank you for your input! I was thinking he’s possibly lab/pit and they put coon to make him more adoptable. Either way he’s the best boy and we are planning on getting a dna test eventually!

This dog's ears would be much longer if he was a lab/coonhound. He sort of looks like he has a brachycephalic great grandparent. Just something about his snout seems sort of short.

I agree, especially the last pic almost like a pug face. So cute.

I don't really see any hound trademarks, but I do think Lab is on the nose at least. That wide forehead is giving bully breed vibes though. Maybe a more common mutt mix of lab+bully+others?

I don’t see any coonhound whatsoever. I had a black and tan coonhound.
