Question Best mini scanner: Racing Electronics REceiver or Nitro Bee Xtreme?
I’m interested in getting one of these mini scanners mentioned above but there’s not a lot of helpful reviews on them. The three main things I’m interested in are audio quality, reception quality and battery life.

Blog First IndyCar Race Since I Was 13—What an Experience
Hi everyone. First time poster on here. Just wanted to share how awesome an experience I had at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, my first IndyCar race in decades, and it was the perfect way to get back into the sport. St. Pete is an incredible host city—the waterfront backdrop, walkable layout, and overall atmosphere made for a great race weekend. The weather on race day was perfect: sunny, mid-70s, and not too humid, which only added to the experience.
Seeing the cars in person again reminded me just how fast they really are. TV doesn’t do justice to the way they attack the corners and fly down the straights at over 200 mph. The level of competition and strategy stood out to me much more as an adult—tire management, fuel strategy, and push-to-pass all played a huge role. Every pass felt deliberate, and even small mistakes had major consequences.
The paddock access was another highlight. Seeing the cars and teams up close gave me a new appreciation for the engineering behind these machines. IndyCar does an amazing job of keeping the sport open and accessible to fans. I’m already thinking about which race to attend next.
Fully pumped to go to Long Beach!
Anyone else remember their first IndyCar race? What stuck with you the most?

Off Topic [OT] Is the Eldora family night race before the 500 worth it?
I’m heading to the 500 for the first time this year and arriving a bit early. I noticed Eldora Speedway is hosting its Family Fireworks Night #1 event on May 17. I’d love to experience Eldora, but I’m wondering if the racing that night is worth checking out. Has anyone attended this event or something similar? Should I wait for a different race night to get the full Eldora experience?

Question Cart Point System
This is my first post so forgive me if I make any errors, please just go ahead and tell me.
Today I watched the 1999 cart finale at Fontana, because that season is notorious for the tie between Montoya and Franchitti. Now, can anyone tell me the point distribution system in cart, because I'd like to know how the tie between the two came together. I tried to look it up, but I haven't found it anywhere.
Also R.I.P Greg Moore
Edit: Thanks to everyone who replied

Discussion Indy Lights/Indy NXT Team History
Hello
I've been looking to the history of the top Indycar feeder series since its inception as ARS in 1986, trying to analyse the entry lists, the amount of drivers who went on to compete in IndyCars (both CART, IRL and the unified series), how many of them became winners and champions, etc... However, I first wanted to make sense of the teams that entered this championship. I thought about beginning in 1986, but there is some incomplete data and somke teams missing, especially from the 1986-1995 period.
Here is the list. There's a lot of incomplete data, namely on team owners (I took them off when I edited the post, as it might become more confusing. I'm sure there are also teams related to a previous one, like TJ Speed, which formed when they bought Belardi in 2021, and so on. Plus, in the last few seasons, there were almost only three or four teams, with the smaller ones being in partnership with the biggest, which only adds to the confusion.

Saw this on the DCR Instagram page. The car is used for pit stop practice, but I couldn't help but notice how slick the incomplete aero screen looked.

Discussion Anyone have idea how Trump's sales tax on imported goods will effect Indycar?
Dallara is Italian, but will they escape tariffs because of that plant in Indy?
McLaren is the ECU supplier, does everything they provide to Indycar teams now cost 10 percent more?
Will Honda be subject to the 24 percent tariff?
Does anyone know how the Honda Indy Toronto will be effected by all this? I can't imagine the current situation has helped ticket sales and sponsorship.

Discussion Discussion: what are the most controversial moments in Indycar history?
I had this thought this morning. Waiting for Long Beach and to fill the gap… What are the most controversial races/moments for you guys? Not necessarily in order, but the ones that come to your minds and it’s like they happened yesterday.
I’ll go with 5 that come to my mind: - Indy 500 2002 - Detroit 2007 - Baltimore 2013 - New Hampshire 2011 - Toronto 2011

My dad had a piece of debris off an old car that wrecked at the Indy 500. I believe it was pre-2000s. I have been having the hardest time placing it. Does anyone have any clue?

Social Media Nathan Brown: Roger Penske just spoke at the @IMSMuseum opening on a variety of topics. Of note, he says @IndyCar plans to debut its entire new car for 2027 (rather than partially in ‘27 as had been said to be an option).
The changes are coming; coming to the date of the new car
