Design Job Handoff to factory

Hello! I have to design a nail polish bottle for a client, and l’m curious how I’m supposed to hand in the CAD model to the factory, for production.

It’s my first time designing a glass container.

Any suggestions, learning sources or ideas are welcome, about designing for glass, and anything you may deem useful.

Thank you!🙏

School Math in Industrial Design deegres

I'm looking to pursue a bachelors in industrial design.

I've seen a couple of math classes in the curriculum but I would like to know how much math knowledge I would need while on the degree since my math skills are extremely poor.

Do you guys have exercises to practice your handwriting? I have poor and inconsistent handwriting and I'd like to improve it for callouts and storyboarding.

Discussion Thesis /Overcoming self doubting

Hello! I am a Senior Industrial Design student about to graduate with my Bachelors. This past year along with taking other studio classes I have been developing a thesis project. Without saying too much the project takes a more discursive approach and I have created my own project/experiment framework to flesh out the idea as best as I see fit. We had our thesis defense presentations 6 weeks prior to our actual final date to have everything done so I am actively still working on this. The thesis presentation went well but I'm struggling to feel like my project is actually coming across the way I want it to. The way we are taught at my school is heavily focused on commercial design and CAD and I'm wondering if it was a bad idea for me to take this big of a step away from that. I ultimately just want to feel happy and confident in my work but my biggest struggle right now is just feeling the confidence to move forward. Has anyone else gotten this stuck/unsure feeling when working on a big project before? Any tips on how to move forward or build up confidence? Thanks :)

Career Summer course

Hey y'all, I am a senior in HS, and am looking to get into ID. I have pretty much 0 experience.

I know that I will have to apply to get into the clubs at my university, so I was wondering if there are any certifications I can get over the summer that I will enhance my resume.

I know about the Google ux UI course, but I keep seeing mixed reviews.

Can you guys recommend a course for me? (Budget is $150)

Hello everyone, I’m a product design master’s student with an architecture background. I’d really appreciate your honest thoughts on my latest portfolio.Reddit doesn’t allow more than 20 pages, so I’m dropping the Behance link instead. Would love some solid critiques, ideas, or suggestions if you’ve got any.

Design Job How is future of new industrial designers in India?

I am seeing less opportunities for industrial design in India mainly from job roles. I have seen best of industrial designers not finding job and they either end up switching to UI UX or higher education. Either they are getting exploited or else they don't get any opportunity. When I see Chinese friends are getting good pay and opportunities, so what is happening in India? Why senior designers in organisations pushing for expanding teams and giving opportunities for fresh intakes. I am sure someone would have done same for them too.

School ID vs. apparel design?

I’m graduating high school this May and trying to figure out what I wanna study, I’m torn between industrial design and apparel design. I know they’re different in a lot of ways, but I feel like there’s also some overlap with the creative/process side of things. Since this is an ID sub, I’m curious what you all think about apparel design, especially how it compares in terms of industry culture, work environment, and overall vibe. Just trying to get some perspective before I commit to a direction. Appreciate any thoughts!
