Just finished season two. The one question bothering me the most. Spoiler

When Aneesha and her family were being escorted to a secure location by the military with the shard in s1. Who the WAJO attacked them and why?!

Sure lots of other questions, but that one has bothered me this whole time the most.

If I were Sarah’s mom I would have smacked her all that whining…S1 newbie

TLDR; Should I even continue with this? Too many technically unrealistic things including a child that screams when aliens are nearby and nothing happens but when others make noise the aliens attack.

No spoilers, please! Still in season 1. Just tell me if it gets even less believable. Walking Dead was better at coloring inside the lines of believability.

I am about to QUIT WATCHING because Sarah cries and yells even though the aliens can hear & then find people (they don’t seem to hear her) AND when the imposter soldiers are following them through the forest.

  1. In the attic. Everyone says be quiet and she starts screeching. Aneesha needs to shut her kid up, since she’s endangering them all. I am right where Ahmed sacrifices his life to distract the thugs from locating his family and his daughter starts screeching again. It literally feels like I am trying to eat dinner in a restaurant with a screaming 7 yo and the parents are saying, “It’s ok, honey!” And I am a mom. I know how to stare my kids into behaving

  2. Imposter (?) soldiers chasing them through the woods, mom is hiding with the kids in the forest, dad gets shot trying to distract them and Sarah screams “Dad!” and starts crying loudly….. totally giving their location away and dad dies in vain.

Anyway, that’s where I am now. As a mom, I would have, first time she endangered us all, given her the mom stare that cuts like a knife and whispered “If you don’t shut up you will get us all killed.” Nope. She starts talking to her, saying, “It’s ok, baby, mom will protect you.”

UNREALISTIC:

I don’t know if I should waste my time any longer:

  1. How does GI Joe Travante call the United States from a pay phone in London without a credit card or anything, especially after the world is a mess and cell phones don’t work? Some miracle makes the connection work without paying for the overseas call?

Bad screen writers? They wanted to fill in his story as dad of a dead kid, but they could have done it in a conversation with someone, perhaps the guy with the donkey who found his goats?

  1. Casper is in an MRI with wires coming out of his red baron cap. Ok, maybe they are aluminum, but as an electrical engineer, I can tell you that basic electromagnetic theory would tell me that electron holes wouldn’t move in such a strong magnetic field. So that stupid Red Baron cap on Caspar does absolutely nothing. I went into automatic control systems, so maybe I don’t know something, but it’s the MRI that the neurologist is looking at, and Caspar’s seizure triggers on the flashing lights. So the stupid cap totally threw it for me. Also, was there a ring on his finger? Metal in his zipper or buttons? He wasn’t wearing a gown, just street clothes. No decent doctor would allow street clothes in an MRI. E.g.: https://www.ktvu.com/news/bay-area-nurse-crushed-in-mri-accident-highlighting-safety-concerns (this sub Reddit won’t let me embed a link here?)

  2. Fire can kill the aliens, but not bullets yet no one is carrying flame throwers as a weapon?

  3. Mitsuki is annoyingly egotistical. And she literally knows everything somehow, magically. The breadth and depth of her technical abilities is very unrealistic. In real life, there are specialists and the work together. (Think Apollo 13, which was based on real life. There were engineers working on different problems, being lead by flight director Gene Kranz dor the Apollo 13 mission in Houston.)

Instead of being realistic, the storyline is crammed full of looong intimate interludes with banal conversations & dialogue that does not add depth to the characters. They were obviously trying to fill in dead air or something.

Looking forward to comments on the unrealistic facts & scenarios and whether I should give up.

Even a 5 yo could have shut up. Less than 2 yo? ….maybe no. Around 3 or 4 yo they can see why screaming is a bad idea. Sarah’s screaming, crying, whining and talking when she’s told to be quiet and a monster is coming…..and yet never getting attacked when everyone else is? Not believable. Even if it was just a bad child actor, I would have edited out all the screaming.

Feeling wajo deficient? Try Zero Day on Netflix.

If you're missing the feeling of having a recurring thing in a TV show that seemingly never gets explained, try Zero Day on Netflix for their version ("who killed bambi?") if you're going into it as a casual viewer. I looked it up after and apparently there is an actual explanation, but as long as you don't get deep with it, it's the next best wajo feeling.

On a serious note, I actually am sad that we may never get an explanation for what they intended for wajo to mean. Something so obscure that kept being brought up, I was surely hoping for some big reveal on it, but at this point...

Independence day. One of the greatest alien invasion movie ever made with a budget of 75M $$

Mars attack. A parody movie featuring still a pretty impressive alien invasion. 80M $$ à bit more than Independence day

War of the worlds by Steven Spielberg. Many flaws aside featured iconic tripods and sounds in a nightmarish invasion. 125M $$ alot yet understandable.

INVASION.

A series not a movie by Apple. With so much potential with a 200 MILLIONS DOLLAR BUDGET.

AND THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO ???? COMPARE TO THE OTHERS I LISTED????

HOW????????

HOW DID THEY MANAGE IN 2 SEASONS WITH ENDLESS POTENTIAL AND MONEY FOR EVERYTHING DO THIS PILE OF WAJO GARBAGE !?

If something never gets old on this sub. Its all the new posts about new viewers expériencing this WAJOhole.

Its the best. Seeing them experience this this....WAJO. As they are bewildered by how AWFUL this mess is. Or are done with S1 and are about to enter the hell that is Invasion S2

Only to find unity in reaching this sub realising they are not alone in their hate for this piece of WAJO ( Which they have find the meaning of )

Now we are set for our next destination as we wait for season 3 in unity

WAJO

S1e9 did I just see this on the show for real? Spoiler

Did I just see Hinata swim through space? I almost stopped watching the show because that was just stupid. Without any inertia you don’t move in space. That was a dumb thing to write in a sci-fi series but other than that I’m enjoying the show.

How high are the maze walls in the final scene of S02?

I suspect the Hive Mind has taken over my brain, because from one angle the maze walls look to be as tall as a giant canyon, but from other angles they're shoulder height and then from other angles they're maybe a dozen feet tall. It can't be that they're way off in the distance, because then each corridor of the maze would be as wide as a valley, but in some shots Trevante could cross one in a single step. Or is it Trevante that's growing huge and tiny? What gives?

Just finished season 2

Wow I really did laugh out loud when I finished the show and came looking for answers and found this reddit. It perfectly encapsulated my bewilderment at why I kept watch even though I compiled a running list of hundreds of questions and plot holes/inconsistencies/ and general frustration. I frequently asked myself what in the (to pile onto this channel’s running jokes) wajo fuck is going on?? Hate watch lol. Yep. The premise is awesome and I guess I watched because I thought at some point its all going to come together and blow me away, it will all make sense and all be a wonderfully amazing reveal. Ha doubt it… but I do want to know who/what are they, where did they come from and what in wajo fuck do they want? We should start a running list of all the running plot lines/questions/inconsistencies people have found throughout the first two seasons. Would be hilarious to read through.

Waj-on!!!

Just finished S01E04. I never really post but I'll do it anyway. Here are my two cents.

  • Show's sooooooo fucking slow.
  • Everyone's aggressive (passive or not).
    • Hinata never mentioned her father to her GF -> GF saw her father once and judged him and told him he was disgusting -> Dad told the real story -> GF never apologized -> WHAT???
  • Kids climbing out off the cliff.
    • No one fell really? Are all those professional climbers? WTF.
    • There were fatass kids (somewhat) there and guess what they climbed out successfully. WTF.
  • Only watching because of the SCI-FI theme, aliens, and shit. But this has been terrible so far.

Trichloromethane episode. Most glaring plot hole ever? Spoiler

Ok, major broken thread in this series. In one episode, a scientist drops a liquid on the alien tissue, trichloromethane I think, and in his own words "Completely dissolves" it. A powerful weapon obviously, especially in most weapons don't hurt the aliens, especially the new hunter killers. But after that episode, the only weapon is the telepathic kids. Did they scrap the liquid just to service advancing the plot as the super-kids being the main weapon? If so, as much as I like the show, that's really sloppy writing. Can anyone give an alternative explanation to resolve this conundrum?

Aneesha has to be one of the weirdest written characters ever.

Wtf is her plotline. I feel like it got lost after her convoy was attacked on the way to the pentagon. Why doesn't she want the government to have this very important piece that could help the fight against the aliens? Instead she turns into everybody's redneck uncle who doesn't trust the government and lives out in the woods yelling at her kids.

I just finished 2x1 and honestly her plotline alone is enough for me to find another show. I won't even get into how annoying her kids are.

Invasion Season 1

so I just started watching this show called Invasion on Apple TV. My opinion about season 1 is pretty terrible. Aneesha’s family are very stupid, i like the cheating element but it was like she forgave him which was annoying. Not to mention her children wouldn’t shut tf up. They act like they don’t understand what’s going on and questioning her as if they aren’t being shot at and hunted for. The Japanese element i found a little boring. Mitsuki trying to find her gf that died in space… not to mention they never even got attacked by these aliens which i found odd. The military man i found interesting only because he had a mission to make it back home by any means necessary. The group of school kids pissed me off so much. I was waiting for that boy to kick that bully in the nuts and it never even happened. Literally “kissed and made up” after all the mean shit he did to him was annoying. I’d rate this season a 4/10

Wajo

This show and all it's characters are so annoying, I find myself asking for none to survive multiple times an episode.

All this show has shown us is how to actually get killed if aliens ever invade. Wajo I guess

The aliens are such a disappointment

So, I’m on S2 e6 and somehow still sticking with this. I probably shouldn’t have started something right after Ted Lasso because that was fantastic. My biggest issue, despite hating most of the characters (not you Trevante) are the aliens. Somehow they can build these interstellar spaceships without opposable thumbs and travel here to invade Earth and yet they have no weapons that shoot shit. They only use their spiky attachments to kill the earthlings and they are absolutely stymied by doors. They don’t seem intelligent. So it hasn’t yet been revealed if they are simply drones and the intelligent species are on the ships but so far, after many episodes of buildup, they are a complete fucking letdown. Anyway, wajo.

Newcomer to the series with thoughts

Hey! I just started watching this show about a week ago, finished S1, currently binging S2. I’ve been noticing a few things

1) the Aneesha plot makes no sense to me. Why doesn’t she just wajo the shard to the wajo instead of running away?

2) Mitsuki is the only wajo that wajo. Wajo that she wajo wajo wajo. The more I wajo I realize wajo wajo wajo?!

  1. Wajo wajo wajo wajo and wajo wajo. Wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo? Wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo how wajo wajo wajo wajo wajo

Does any wajo wajo to wajo wajo wajo wajo?! Or wajo wajo just wajo?
