So I'm going to toss out a few rules. In the next week or two I'll get some free time to formalize some along the side bar, because the community has grown to have enough traffic to need them now... but here's the short list.
Thank you everyone. More to come later, but I hope this just sets some basic ground rules.

It has been a week since we got our iggy Pitita Queen. She is a joy. She really is a velcro dog, and loves to be on our lap and by our side.
We’ve been improving the amount of time she is able to stay in puppy pen, so she can stay awake an hour and have a good nap of 2 hours. She sometimes cried A LOT im the puppy pen even though she looks really sleepy. I guess she has a lot of puppy FOMO haha

I’m going out of town and trying to decide on getting boarding or a sitter for my 2 dogs. My youngest is an 8 month old Iggy, and she is not house broken. We’re always working on it, but she’s not there yet. I feel like this alone makes it unreasonable for me to drop her off at someone’s place, as she’s 100% going to pee on their floor. Dog sitters might feel less annoyed by this than a friend doing a favor, so my question is, what do you do when you need to leave your Iggy behind for a few days, specifically when they’re not house broken.
Thanks in advance.

My iggy makes the best tiny model, only when laying down is she still though! Thought these photos were cute so I'd share :)

This is her old Halloween costume she demands she wears every now and again. The bone is an ostrich leg, and the skull was the last Mailman.

Girls did their favorite hike for the first time since late fall. Stop mid way at coffee shop for snacks and then an afternoon snooze al fresco. Life is good!

We have found out our puppy can't have chicken or pork. She is 4 months old. We do not want to transition her to a raw diet until I have enough knowledge/information to make an informed decision on this. I do not have the means to home cook due to chronic health conditions unfortunately. We have tried her on Wainwright salmon sensitive food (although less nutritionally dense it was suitable for puppy's) and she doesn't like it at all. I can't seem to find any other kibble that isn't chicken, that is designed for puppy's. & Butternut is a bit too expensive for us unfortunately but something we may have to consider. Does anyone have any recommendations? She was on canine choice puppy food before, with beef bone broth added here and there. I have used the all about dog food website but just can't seem to find anything that meets the criteria.

She won't go outside when the grass is too wet but she'll frolick in the snow like a snowshoe hare...

Just thought I’d show y’all what a Yorkie x Italian Greyhound looks like! I can’t wait for his hair to grow out. I just adopted him last week.

Hi IG lovers,
My sweet boy is almost 2 years old. Love him with all of my heart. But, our morning routine is super challenging and I’ve been banging my head against the wall for months now trying to figure out a good solution, so I’m coming before you all to solicit advice. I’ll try to explain this as best as I can…
I wake up every morning to get ready to go to my office job. Iggy sleeps in bed with me, is usually already awake when I get up and patiently waiting for me to get up and signal that we can go have breakfast and go potty.
We sleep upstairs, breakfast and potty requires us to go downstairs. Iggy LOVES the freaking stairs. He loves standing at the top of the stairs and staring at me. He loves ignoring me when I call his name and prompt him to come down so we can potty and eat. It is IMPOSSIBLE to motivate him to walk downstairs unless he can see/hear my offering of his breakfast to get him to come.
note: he also loves going potty on the stairs. he’s pretty good about going outside but the staircase winds around so he has some good spots he can hide behind to sneak in some comfortable indoor business rather than braving the perils of the outdoors. Sigh
iggy will run downstairs when he hears his bowl placed on the ground, eat at sonic speed, and try to sprint back up the stairs without going potty. I CANNOT catch him. He will then run and jump back into bed to go back to sleep or hide under the bed where he is also impossible to catch.
some mornings I interrupt him mid breakfast and take him out to go potty so that he can finish his breakfast afterwards and sprint back upstairs in peace. He’s not a fan of this arrangement and generally doesn’t get why I’m standing between him and chow time
My question for the group: how do I get him to come down the stairs without always needing to offer food/a treat? If breakfast isn’t ready in time while he’s standing on the stairs, he sometimes will just go potty right there. It’s really hard because I’m usually in a rush to get to work. If he’s standing on the stairs and I approach him, he runs back up. I can’t catch him. Pls help

I've read many recommendations for the Ruffwear Flagline harness for Italian Greyhounds who are escape artists.
On the Ruffwear website, it suggests measuring the dog's chest to determine size but given the unique dimensions of IGs, I believe this might be inaccurate for our breed. As you all know, our babies have large chests but are tiny everywhere else.
My boy is 12 lbs. Does anyone else own a well-fitting Flagline harness? Can you please let me know the size you have as well as the size of your IG?
Thank you very much for your help!!
