Obtain more clearance by gluing sandpaper on either knob or sliding part

just replace those knobs with roughing end mills. Self clearancing!

I can see light through that gap. That's a full send all day every day.

Sure does. Until it doesn’t.

It cleared, therefore there is clearance

There's a good millimetre there. What are you talking about?

That's signal chat level clearance, right there.

u/theryguy07 4d ago

Yes, because it clearly clears; as it’s not hitting

3

u/JuxiSz99 4d ago

"I don't see anything hitting, you have clearance"

Old mentor Ed words

Why wouldn’t it?

Could fit a hole Cave diver in there

PSA: if you have not watched the movie "Thirteen Lives", you must do so soon.

are you really a machinist if you haven’t ripped the door off an enclosure with a poorly planned homing cycle

1

u/Stonedyeet 4d ago

There is a dent on out machine door because there is in fact no clearance

1

u/Elbarfo 3d ago

Shit, there's at least half a mm there. Might as well be the grand canyon.

Is this a cylindrical grinder? those look similar to those marposs wiskers that feel the diameter in-process while grinding.

Exactly what it is 😊

I've sent it with less. Send it brother

.01 is as good as 1.0

Edit: do not apply this logic to your tolerance, someone will be upset.

For machines, tools, and workpieces, I recommend sticking with loose or slip-fits. Press and interference fits may piss off the boss man.

u/NotTheBigBang 3d ago

Yes unless there are variables that make it not clearance

1

u/FischerMann24-7 2d ago

You could have half that clearance and you’d still be fine.
