I would be so stressed in Jacks position, but I'm glad he's fully able to handle it. Someone that close would make me very uneasy, even if I know there's a good reason for it.

But yeah, 110% golden retriever.

Pretty sure he knew who Tanner was in advance.

I could be 100% prepared for it and would still struggle with that level of intensity/personal space. It’s really impressive how smoothly Jack navigated the entire interaction and made it such a positive experience for everyone

Sounds like you’re more of a Tanner than a Jack

It's a spectrum, so he could be well in-between them both somewhere.

That’s why I said “more of” and not “are”

Yeah, you can try to prepare yourself but it's hard to really plan ahead. Tanner is so close that it's almost a bit scary as you wonder what if he does something suddenly. It's unlikely but anyone that close is going to make you uncomfortable unless you really trust them.

I don't care how much warning you give me, I will never be prepared for somebody coming at me with that energy and yelling directly into my ear and rubbing up on me.

This guy didn't even flinch. That's a professional right there.

I went to school with a special needs boy who was a bit similar to Tanner but lesser functioning and bit more aggressive with grabbing your hand and not wanting to let go. It definitely made people uneasy but for some reason the dude really liked my brother and I so I got used to it and it was kind of endearing when he would come up with his crayon drawings he made us and wanted to “shake hands” (but not let go until you eventually tell him you’re losing feeling in your hand)

There aren't many celebrities out there I have as much confidence in reacting to Tanner as Jack did here. From all accounts, Jack is a wonderful person and kind and caring soul. He did seem to struggle with the closeness but any human being would, that is obviously a lot but he never made himself feel uncomfortable to Tanner and never tried to stop Tanner from enjoying the excitement he was feeling.

I am certain Jack handled this so much better than so many of us would have and I am thrilled for Tanner as a result but also Jack for demonstrating compassion, patience, humility, sympathy, and empathy for the world to see.
