calling your future spouse 'my friend' tickles me so much. what is marriage if not a legally-binding contract for lifelong friendship?

The funny thing is that we’re not even dating! He is my absolute best friend and we love each other to death, tried to date a few years ago but realized we work better as friends. Neither of us is interested in marriage as a romantic gesture, so we’re marrying for more pragmatic reasons, but ultimately it is about being able to be there for each other medically and legally

We’re down to change it down the line if either of us ever changes their mind about marriage, but for now we’re getting a kick out of joking about honeymooning at the movie theater by watching The Godfather re-release after we leave the courthouse

They are in some places for the 50th anniversary I think? It’s a select theaters kind of thing but worth checking if there are any near you playing it if you like the trilogy
