Seeing your favorite pet already an old dog is one of the most heartbreaking things to see

Very true. Seeing that furball who was once full of energy now become old and weak is so sad. It was heartbreaking to see my dog like that in his final years.

The hardest part about having pets is watching them age and leave you. But while they are here they are a tour de force of pure love and happiness. BRB gonna go hug my babies.

It really is. I lost my childhood cat about 2 years ago after being with me for 16 years and I can't imagine ever having a pet again.

Yeah, lost my 2 rottweiler 3 years apart, was there for my male rottie when his heart stopped, fked me up, but their death made me even more animal lover, then you have so much love to give animals that every dogs, sheep, cats love you in return even if its the first time you meet them. they know if you have love to give to them.

The single greatest trick the universe ever played on the human species is letting us become friends with animals that do not match our own lifespans. Can you imagine having a dog or a cat that you had as a kid that brought you Joy thought you responsibility compassion all those great things and being able to introduce your own children to this creature.... there's a couple of dogs I had in my entire life that I wish that my children could experience.

Your pup looks just like my ol' girl Halsey in her later days. She passed sitting with me in her favorite place in our back yard. She was a great dog.
