Walton Goggins’ post about Rick and Chelsea, set to Silver Springs

Mike White is a genius and writes some of the most thoughtful characters I’ve ever seen.

She is incredible! Both my children love her and she has been a godsend for my oldest with learning to talk. She really does work magic.

Anyone else feel the Rick/dad reveal is bad writing?

Maybe that was the point, everyone could see the path he was going down but him. I thought his story was complex and although transparent, had many layers.

That’s how I felt too, that’s kind of how I thought the scene would play. I guess that’s why I was so touched, I wanted her to remain friends with them, and I was so convinced she was about to say “are you fucking kidding me? It’s all bullshit,” but I was so happy she didn’t. We all go through stuff and have arguments, but at the end of the day it’s nice to have people who really know you.

Like everything in the white lotus, Rick was a cautionary tale. A combination of thinking he has the absolute facts and being willing to kill for it is a crazy dangerous combination. If Rick would have just slowed down and listened to Chelsea, waited to speak to Amrita, and just let the situation breathe then all that destruction wouldn’t have occurred. Sritala even screamed at him in a way that suggests she would have possibly mended the fence between Rick and his father. Learning at literally the worst moment who his father actually was, was Rick’s karmic punishment for not letting go of his revenge story, which was based on lies anyway. He could have had his dad and the life he always wanted if he just let go of his vendetta and hatred.

These Three Ladies

Mike White deserves a huge thank you for writing women in such a real, complex, thoughtful way. All throughout this season I’ve been comparing and contrasting the experiences of Jaclyn, Kate, and Laurie to those of my own experiences and friendships with women. I could relate to nearly every experience and understand where each woman was coming from at some point in their journey. I was crying during Laurie’s speech because it really stuck a chord with me and I saw my own friends at that table. It was just beautiful and I absolutely loved the complexity of these ladies, and the delicacy with which their stories were handled. I felt seen as a woman. Anybody else?

It was more of a joke. I thought that was the theme of the post.

Why did everyone move on so quickly from the crisis
 in  r/TheWhiteLotusHBO  1d ago

She didn’t even give a shit about meeting Kate who is in her social circle. Victoria is a narcissist who would only care about a shooting insofar as to how it directly affected her, not any victims. You guys give rich people way too much credit. Tim was going to KILL HIS FAMILY, and you think they give a shit about Thai people? Even the monastery was cosplay for piper. Like I said, it’s a fun anecdote to talk about and tell people, just picture it in your head. They would probably assume Rick and Chelsea were lowlife “boat people” who deserved what they got. And yeah all your points about Victoria are valid and rooted in xenophobia and narcissism, all about her not the victims.

Maybe the people who saw the shooting would be affected. But these are rich people, it would just be a fun anecdote for their “crazy” time in Taiwan! The Ratliffs are going to care way more about their own lives than a shooting at a hotel they stayed at. Never underestimate just how much rich people don’t give a shit about others.

Unpopular opinion: that was an incredible finale

I loved it. I thought the acting was fantastic, I liked everyone’s story, I thought everything wrapped up nicely. Lochlan’s sequence made me question if I’d be able to casually watch season 3 again. There is also still intrigue for the future. Looking forward to season 4.

This was my reminder that The White Lotus is at its heart a comedy. 😂

I’m sorry for those of you who thought this season was disappointing. You’re wrong and you should go to the corner.

It was so on point. I even said he’s not cleaning that.

I legitimately wonder if “PIPER NOOOOOO” is in the finale anywhere, and if it’s related to the shooting or death in any way.

Edit: it was never uttered in the entire series.

OP needs to watch the MTV show 16 and pregnant to get an idea of what she’s getting into.

Motherhood has been the loneliest I’ve ever felt. I have a husband, friends, and close family. It’s an isolating feeling sometimes. Parenthood is the most challenging thing you’ll ever do.

Eh I was using their terminology. We all know what the verbiage is. Termination.

It really doesn’t matter how cool the parent, the kid will always think they are lame in some way. 😂

Killing it before it’s able to feel is certainly better than being neglected, yes.

The hardest part about having pets is watching them age and leave you. But while they are here they are a tour de force of pure love and happiness. BRB gonna go hug my babies.
