I keep getting messages that a monster has destroyed the same camp every time I go to the forest, I haven't rebuilt it since the first time it was destroyed

They rebuild themselves after 10min

The monsters rebuild it?

Nature really is incredible.

They just feel bad and want to be forgiven. Also breaking the skull of their friend with a big ass hammer may have helped

Well how can they destroy it again if they don’t put it back together? It’s like dominoes for them or Lego

Life, uh, finds a way!

What?...I did not know that

So it doesn't really matter all that much if they respawn on their own without wasting resources. Just a very minor inconvenience.

It matters if you want to use them in those 10 minutes to start a quest but besides that no not really

If your camp gets destroyed the builder cat will build them again after 10 min.

Unless you physically go there or edit camps elsewhere and tell them you want the camp elsewhere.

It usually happens even if you are present or not present near the tent, I was fishing in the oasis part of the desert area and I set up a camp exactly at the oasis, a chatacabra destroyed the tent and I didn't bother to fix it and was busy fishing and the builder cat which was looking at the camp after some time built a new one without me interacting.

Then I left for the hunt in the same map and this time, I got a popup saying doshagama destroyed the very same oasis camp and again I didn't care and after I left the map and came back to fish at the oasis the camp was rebuilt without me doing anything.

Oh yeah I know, I was not disputing that. I was saying you have to physically tell them not to rebuild is what I meant if you want the location changed.

I once kept getting messages that a Gypceros had discovered my pop-up camp. The same camp. Once a minute.

I later went there and discovered it was so hellbent on destroying my camp that it had gotten stuck on a wall and hadn't thought to just fly up.

On the desert area? Around left upper corner? I saw that too lol

Plains Area 3? I used to have one there; the exact same thing would happen. I eventually got tired of the persistent notification spam and moved it elsewhere. You win, Gypceros.

Yeah, I don't really use it anymore. There's another one fairly close by that's considered safe.

I wish we had stealth camp's but at the cost of not being able to cook in them or other features. Maybe like the camp at the arena.

I make camps in dangerous areas just so I can say "Hello. You have destroyed my camp. prepare to die"

I means it gives you a reason to actually hunt a monster. I wouldn't bother otherwise. I'm just collecting materials for trading for ingredients.

This is the reason why I’ve hunted the local quematrice population into extinction

I imagine is like bears, they probably smell food or something in there.

Ah yes, camp 10, out of the way, in a corner, bothering no one.

Quematrice: say that again, mf.

Think of it like this, if you see a nest of an invasive species that constantly spawns a creature that disrupts the surrounding ecosystem, your first instinct is to destroy it.

Thats what we are to the monsters.

Well there are enough safe camps in every map to basically have an instant teleport to every major fighting area and monsters literally can’t destroy safe camps because they’re almost always either on a path they can’t reach or walled off.

Quematrice...

For real tho, what is even the point of some of these camps? In 120 hours, the number of times I was able to fast travel to the Oasis camp is significantly less than 5.

Oh the Hatred i felt when a Rompopolos destroyed my camp while I was Fashioning inside of it. There was something so primordial about the rage and confusion I felt because it was the first time it happen to me.

Anyway, i'm currently trying to style those new rompopolos shoes

I grew up on a dairy farm. When we were younger, my cousin and I spent an entire day building a fort in the pasture... the likes of which most kids could only dream about. By the time we finished, we were too tired to play in it and called it a day. The next morning, when we went back to enjoy the fruit of our labor, we found that overnight... the cows had trampled down the entire structure... not only that, but they s#*& all over the refuse as well. The monsters trashing our camps is entirely believable.
