Detroit One makes a badass omelet. Their coneys are fine, but you're just about mile from Lafeyette so why
4
u/HeadDiver5568 1d ago
I live in metro-flint and asked for a coney when I first moved up here (from Detroit). I couldn’t believe the monstrosity that laid before me😭😭 so as soon as I saw that sign, that’s the first thing I thought too
•
u/nykiek 23h ago
Did you get a Flint Coney? I get it Detroit coneys are better.
•
u/HeadDiver5568 23h ago
I got a flint coney that is different in terms of sauce, but Detroit’s is better fs. The Leo’s near me however needs to shutdown for their “coney dog” monstrosity

Coneys are so nasty. I really do not understand the lore.
•
u/SaltLakeCitySlicker 23h ago edited 23h ago
It's pretty easy.
In 1701, Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac, along with approximately 100 French and 100 Algonquian Natives landed on and founded Fort Pontchartrain du Detroit at the favorable site of what would become the city today. To celebrate, the party had what is now a traditional local delicacy of a beef Frankfurter on a steamed bun with no bean beef chili, mustard, and fine copped onions on top. This recipe, originally coming from a heathen land to the east, was made pure by the fresh water and air of a pleasant peninsula, and should be used as celebration food for a bountiful harvest, healthful life, a loving marriage, happy family, and peeling 11s down woodward
They quickly added fries with chili, Vernors, faygo, and better made chips to accompany the coney and create a feast
•
u/theJMAN1016 Royal Oak 22h ago
you wrote all of that to reinforce the fact that it is gross. Vernors is also nasty.
•
u/SaltLakeCitySlicker 21h ago
You sound like a ton of fun at parties
•
u/theJMAN1016 Royal Oak 21h ago
Nice outdated comeback.
I'm not interested in any parties you are throwing if they center around Coneys and Vernors.
•
•
u/willfiredog 16h ago

Vernors has gone down hill though. It was much better in the 80s and 90s.

I felt like there was nothing in the flint area or I at least didn’t hear about it. Especially metro-flint. But I did see A LOT of American flag apparel when I went out to lapeer with my gf. It was like I was at a clone festival 😂 literally blue jeans, boots, generic hoodie and American flag cap from 99% of the people I saw out there. And I’m pretty sure it was unintentional

after a couple of days on this page i didn’t realize the michigan subreddit is just a liberal forum, that takes down/hides any non liberal viewpoints in the comments. could be my fault for not knowing that before hand but that seems a little unfair no?
•
u/letsxxdiscooo 19h ago
There have only been about 3 people that have had something shitty to say. There's nothing being hidden. Elon is a piece of shit and most people with a brain know it.
•
u/WallabyFar196 19h ago
it’s just i didn’t expect the michigan sub reddit to be 80% liberal politics, i came originally for general michigan stuff not political stuff. i don’t see elon as a bad person so i guess that makes me brainless according to you, but again we have different view points. is there a different michigan subreddit that isn’t as political?
•
u/Wraithchild28 19h ago
You do realize that we can all see the reasons given by mods for deletion, right? Your argument is the same as "ZOMG TWITTER IS CENSORING CONSERVATIVES!" when you're all really just breaking the ToS that YOU AGREED TO with hate, bigotry, etc. Meanwhile, the new Xitter platform censors liberals for merely criticizing the owner or any conservatives, and conservatives are allowed to spew the most hateful, disgusting things without getting suspended or having to delete posts. Elon unsuspended Andrew Tate, ffs. Cry more about literally nothing. 👍🏼
•
•
u/WallabyFar196 19h ago
i’m not talking about deleting hate comments, i don’t condone spreading hate, i’m talking about the comments that are hidden that are disagreeing with the general view of this subreddit, this page is mostly liberal views which is fine, but in the pages ToS it says not to incite arguments and by that standard most of these comments should be taken down. it just seems that all the comments that are hidden are the ones giving different view points or disagreeing. i’m not crying about anything just unexpected. also who is “you” i didn’t say anything bad before on this?
•
u/Wraithchild28 19h ago
You said both "taking down" (that means deleted) and "hiding." Elon Musk and most conservatives are spreading hate every day, and you said Musk isn't a bad guy in another post. You're straight-up lying.
•
u/WallabyFar196 18h ago
i am a conservative and i don’t feel like spreading hate just because i have a different view point and opinion than you, you’re right i don’t think elon is a bad person. does that make me hateful? what am i lying about?
•
u/Wraithchild28 18h ago
It does, and you're lying to everyone and yourself about not being hateful yourself. If you don't feel that the things he says and does are hateful, you're either a hateful person or you're not paying attention. Hating on minorities and women is a deep-rooted conservative value that y'all just can't quit. What does conservatism even mean today? Free markets? 🚫 Small government? 🚫 Fiscal responsibility? 🚫 Conservatives used to be able to separate themselves from the hateful Jim Crow/Southern Strategy tendencies of the worst of you by saying it's about all of those things and not, y'know, hating everyone who's not straight, white, and Christian. By (twice) electing a 34× felon over two highly qualified women, that ship has sailed.
•
u/WallabyFar196 18h ago
i don’t hate minorities or women or non white christian people tho? you still haven’t answered my question, what am i being hateful about? i simply made a statement and then asked a genuine question about this subreddit. i didn’t mean any hate by any of my comments and i don’t think they were hateful. if they were they would’ve been taken down by mods.
•
u/gribblesNbitz 14h ago
Exactly. This is why the other conservative comments were taken down. They were hateful. Not because of a liberal bias on this board. During Trump's first term, I think you could expect a certain amount of grace from democrats, where you could be a Trump supporter without being a terrible person yourself, but after Jan 6th, Project 2025, taxation without representation, and allowing Elon and his prepubescent terdboys to shred the constitution, there's no more grace. If you can look objectively at what is being done and still say, "I don't think Elon's a bad guy," then, YES, you are hateful. You aren't a nice guy if you think Hitler isn't that bad.
•
u/WallabyFar196 18h ago
again we disagree about elon musk, i don’t believe he’s inherently a bad person. but a differing opinion does not mean i’m a hateful person.
•
u/Wraithchild28 18h ago
No, we don't "disagree" about Elon Musk. You either embrace his hatred, or you have no idea who the man is and shouldn't be talking about things you know nothing about. It can't be both, so which is it?
•
u/Wraithchild28 18h ago
Wrong.
•
u/WallabyFar196 18h ago
so since i have a different opinion than you, that means im a hateful person? do you realize how hateful that sounds? i do not hate anyone, you dont even know me to say i am a hateful person. we all have different views and opinions and thats not a bad thing, it keeps people talking and it keeps freedom alive. freedom of choice and speech only means something when people can disagree with you and have different views than you. i’m sorry that your heart is filled with such anger towards me and conservatives. i hope that you will understand that anger and hatred is not a pretty path to go on. i pray for you.
•
u/Wraithchild28 17h ago
It's not about "different opinions," it's about right and wrong. As a Christian, you should've known better. I say that with generosity because most historic wars of the world were fought over Christianity or some other religion (because most religions require blood for some dumb reason). This is a class war, but conservative media is making you think that it's a religion, race, and gender war. These "elites" you claim to hate are dismantling the government and texting war plans to journalists on Signal, making us much less safe. Our enemies are positively giddy. Great job. 👍🏼
•
u/Wraithchild28 18h ago
Nice. How predictable. The "tolerate the intolerant" trope. 🤦♀️ You think "God" is on the side of such people as Trump and Musk? Come on. Even you don't believe that. You still haven't explained to me what modern conservatism is or means. Why? Because you can't without admitting I'm right.

Not necessarily, but he hates when people don’t like him or agree with him so I’m sure this gives him a little bit of a sting. It’s better than doing absolutely nothing and watching the US descend into Germany circa 1939
-24
u/crowd79 1d ago
Trump has the majority backing as the last election showed. Less than 1/2 the country hates him unfortunately.
14
u/AnxiousGinger626 1d ago
lol the whole voting population of country didn’t even vote. 90 million voting eligible people didn’t vote. That’s about 36% of the approximately 245 million total eligible voters in the US. So definitely not “less than 1/2 the country hates him”.
Just because people voted for him it also doesn’t mean they love him - some just couldn’t stand seeing a woman or a POC in office. There are so many dynamics at play here.
Of course, there are people who worship him and would never admit he has ever said or done anything wrong. They’re basically a cult. No politician or should hold that kind of power. It’s really disturbing, especially for such a terrible person.
-1
u/Mode_Appropriate 1d ago
some just couldn’t stand seeing a woman or a POC in office.
Thats such a lazy take and a big reason why the Dems lost.
People voted for him because Kamala was a horrendous candidate who was forced upon us. Her only redeeming quality was 'she's not Trump'...which she pointed out often. The campaign was absurd. Trump didn't win, Democrats lost. This 'lesser of two evil' strategy is getting old. Until people like you realize that and stop blaming it on 'racists and sexists', you'll continue to drive people to vote for scumbags like Trump.
2
u/AnxiousGinger626 1d ago
She wasn’t the best, but my take is true. So many people attacked her previous relationships and her ethnicity. Even Trump did. Yet there’s Trump buying off porn stars, cheating on all of his wives, etc. My take has some validity. She was forced on us, but there’s a double standard.
14
u/cuteasduck1203 Adrian 1d ago
Nope. Luckily, it wasn't half the country who voted for him. It wasn't even technically half of all who voted. It was 49.8% of voters.
Even by conservative estimates, when looking at how many individuals of the US are of voting age, over 100 million didn't vote at all. Of those who did, he won by only a few million (slightly over 2 million) more votes than Kamala. According to Ballotpedia, the exact number would be 2,284,338 more votes.
According to cfr.org, the total amount of voters that showed up for the election was 156,302,318. The total amount of people over the age of 18 in the US is over 260 million.
Also, it's good to remember that his approval ratings have dropped rapidly and substantially since he's entered office. More and more people are starting to see the BS.
-9
u/crowd79 1d ago
The GOP is able to rally their supporters to the polls. Why can’t Dems do the same? That’s why Trump won.
4
u/ProbsNotManBearPig 1d ago
You backed off your original lie pretty quick. You said less half the country hates him, which isn’t expressed by the election results at all.
Only 32% of eligible voters voted for Trump, 31% voted for Kamala, 2% voted 3rd party, and the rest didn’t vote. So less than 1/3rd of eligible voters voted for Trump.
4
u/OfficeChairHero 1d ago
Protests bring awareness. Awareness brings votes. You answered your own question.
3
u/coskibum002 1d ago
Incorrect statement. Less than half OF PEOPLE WHO VOTED. One of the closest elections in history. Take Elon's money out of the equation, and he loses.
Back to back comments bashing protesting and supporting Trump, huh? You're now in the minority, champ.

Trump is not the audience. Protests show other people that they are not alone, and that there is popular resistance to the ideas and policies that they don’t like. The point of protests is to crystallize and influence popular opinion, since there are still some elements of democracy in the country.
Nobody thinks that Elon is going to see these signs and start gargling nuts.
We all know he’s already doing that 😊

Net worth or income. I should rephrase... Its not easy but if effort is made, it is very possible.
Why do people worry about the top 1%? Policy will change, it always does. There are arguments for both parties.
Don't let the top 1% piss you off so bad that you get stuck in a bad loop.
Exercise your rights, 100%. After that, keep mpving forward.
My experience with most overly outspoken protesters, either side, is that they would rather kick the dirt than grind.
