How do you guys even do this, what kind of glazing this is? Challenge is the part of the fun with these things, would you call it Soulsbornes fun if it were not challenging?

Because it's not an objective truth that more difficult = more fun. Not everyone loves difficulty in their games. For me, difficulty can make things more fun, but it can also detract. For example, I don't like Alatreon in World or Malenia in Elden Ring, but on the flipside, I love Fatalis in World and Radagon (specifically Radagon, not Elden Beast) in Elden Ring.
Hell, if you look at most of the top 10 highest sold video game lists, a lot of these games aren't difficult. Maybe difficult to master, but not difficult to just start playing.]
Edit: since this is apparently a hot take, let me ask people who truly believe that "more difficult = more fun" is an objective fact: why are fighting games as unpopular as they are? By the logic that everyone believes that more difficult stuff is more fun, fighting games should be one of the most popular genres, yet they lose pretty convincingly to most other genres.
Idk i dont really play mh series for the difficulty its more for the fun fight with the monster i doubt its going to be dead easy its probably world level difficulty before update which was easy yeah but after the free update the difficulty start to ramp up. In the end its high rank my expectation were already low to start with for the difficulty next year is where the difficult hunt is
If monster hunter was a game franchise renowned for its difficulty I would agree with you here. I would argue that has never been the focus of mh, and the difficulty of earlier games were mostly due to old-school rank (stick based combat/underwater with only 1 stick/etc)
Soulsgames have continuously gotten easier for similar reasons, smoother mechanics and more player options making the games easier going forward
Main thing is are the games still fun? I did not struggle with Melania or consort radahn, and i didn't struggle with alatreon/fatty, but the fights were so epic in scope and animation and overall design that it didn't matter
In what sense is monster hunter renowned for difficulty? The souls games are renowned for their difficulty to the point of being memed for over a decade and its basically the only thing brought up when discussing the games.
Monster hunter has never been like that. They've been about cool/silly monster or equipment designs, the goofy puns, and the sense of community. Difficulty has always been secondary to the experience
Sick of seeing this same exact take from every smoothbrain in here. It's wrong, you're wrong. Get over it. Wilds needs a balancing pass, desperately. Before everyone cakewalks a victory lap through every monster like a tank running over 300 5 yr Olds and leaves the game to never return.
Lmao everyone complaining Low/high rank is too easy are the same people who complained that things were too hard when alatreon/fatalis kicked their shit in.
Enjoy the game or don't, idgaf. I'm going to enjoy wilds regardless
I disagree, elden ring gives you so many tools that straight up trivialize the game in comparison (status effects are broken on the majority of enemies and ashes can solo fights on top of giving you the benefit of co-op)
Whichever soulsgame/mh game you start with will likely be your hardest game. Ds1 pushed my shit in when I played it at launch because I'd never played a game like it before. Mh tri did the same.
I would argue the easiest souls game is ds2, followed by elden ring. The hardest 2 are bloodborne and sekiro
the bosses in ds1 are much easier than the bosses in elden ring . elden ring is more accessible to new players by giving them tools to make the game easier but a game being more accessible ≠ easier. the combat of the game and the bosses are objectively more difficult than ds1
Elden Ring is a literal gold mine of fun being subjective. I keep hearing people bitch about people using summons, or cheese builds, or overleveling to beat a boss, but at the end of the day that's fun for some people.
However, with that being said, I do realize there is reasonable trepidation with MH as you can't exactly customize the difficulty to how you want it to be.
Veterans and people who welcomes the challenge are right to be concerned, though I do think some of the more intense criticism need to be held until they can personally experience the game.
