This and many people probably find World easy because they never did the title update content. Arch Tempered Elders were pretty tough in World before Iceborne dropped. The base game is always more of an easing in and the truly hard stuff comes later with updates and expansions.
Japanese original MH4 players were probably bored as hell waiting for the Ultimate version to drop while international players just got dunked on with Ultimate. Same with 3rd Gen. Tri and P3rd were very easy compared to G rank 3U. 2nd Gen and before, everything was hard because the hit boxes and animations just basically worked against the player at all times and the monster AI and animations were super janky too.
Even with MR gear, bad players get wiped by behemoth.
Source:
have been acting as SnS healer on random AT behe SOS. My non-dps setup dealt more damage than fatalis-geared scrubs. Most hunt were failed before meteor even with me healing;
I have no idea how people can be bad enough to die in full fatty gear with additional healing.
well with up to raging brachy / guiding lands gear I think I can die against AT behemoth, I just don't like the fight, give me raging brachy anytime than behemoth
The whole reason I even bothered with Behe SOS is to provide help with that ass of a monster.
But I dislike people not putting in work; thus instead of carrying them, I play as much of a support char as I can/want, instead of simply dps`ing behe before cart limit is reached by noobs.
To be clear - I get people wiping on meteor, it can be ass even with comet cover due to lag/desync/whatever, so i don`t really judje people for that.
yeah personally I won't SOS a monster that I don't know how to or cannot kill, and I won't join either if I cannot. Exception being AT Velk because I was out dps-ed when solo.
Reading the mhwiki on mh4 quests on guild 7 stars, there are some fun stuff like: furious rajang, deviljho, dalamadur, fatalis, metal raths, akantor, kushala, teostra, molten tigrex.
I for sure wouldn't be bored (didn't even check the events, might have some other stuff there)

What an odd thing to say.
Base MH4 had Akantor, Dalamadur, Furious Rajang/Savage Jho, Fatalis, Crimson Fatalis, Teostra, Kushala, Shagaru, Gold Rathian, Silver Rathalos, Molten Tigrex, a quest with 2 Deviljho in the Arena whilst Naked, quests where you fight all 3 types of a Rath on the Tower etc.
Not to mention Guild Quests. Level 100 Guild Quests were so overtuned that when 4U released the threshold to turn the quest into G rank was 86.
Lol the hit boxes were jank as hell we can all admit that. Anyone can be good at 2nd Gen though. Get a Greatsword run to the back or side of most monsters and charge up while the monster turns. Beat White Fatty and did all you really could over 700 hours in MHFU. It was great for it's time, but like most franchises that run this long the originals are not so great to go back to other than playing to see how far the series has come.
It's a sad way to play the game if you chose it specifically to engage with the monsters as little as possible. Standing behind the monster and waiting for it to turn around - just to see it jump away or dig instead. Successful hit-and-run GS still requires good timing, positioning and anticipation, and carefully avoiding over-commitment because every mistake is harshly punished. Monsters like to insta-charge, roar or dodge to the side for a reason.
You missed out on the game if you played only one weapon and played it like that. FU has a remarkably engaging difficulty design in spite of being simpler. Much of it is subtle. It took me an embarrassingly long time to actually fully understand the Diablos.
But I will also admit that part of the difficulty of FU stems from monsters just straight up hitting much harder. MHFU F. Rajang makes Iceborne F. Rajang look like a chump. Both are excellent fights and very challenging, but the MHFU one is both meaner AND stronger.
The hit boxes in FU looked jank, but they were not unfair - except for the infamous one. That one's a shitstain on the game, regardless of being able to iframe it.
Lol what kind of gate keeping crap is this. I enjoyed the game playing however I wanted. Lol I didn't read past the first few sentences. Can you make your point more concise next time. No one wants to read multiple paragraphs of a person telling them how they should be playing a game. You're superiority complex is pathetic.
You revealed your insecurities. Yeah other people are the problem, right. Also it is not my problem you can't read, maybe you will learn it in the future.
