MH Wilds “Hunter, the Guild authorizes” is so damn cool Spoiler

The handler in wilds feels so much less like some sidekick and more of a HANDLER. Like, we’re the guild’s blade and she is the hand that guides us. The guild has given her FULL AUTONOMY to act on their behalf, and she alone can decide what we are hunting. The lines also came at really good times during cutscenes and overall just fed the vibes lol. Especially the final fight of low rank? SHIVERS

Lore reasons. Hunters can't kill monsters left and right without any valid reasons as doing it will be punished by the guild.

Ive always found this to be so funny.

Hunter in lore: Hero, eco-friendly, reliable.

Hunter in game: mass murderer, forgets antidotes against rathian, kidnaps endemic life cause theyre cute

They can, there's just certain situations where it becomes problematic, and that's when they are punished by the guild.

Specifically, if the monster is going to give birth or is rearing children, they're off the table (unless they pose an active threat to people or the ecology). Also, if a hunter hunts too many of the same monster or hunts a monster that is endangered.

That is to say, hunting a monster without a commission to do so isn't inherently poaching (so long as you notify the guild), but there are a number of circumstances that can cause it to become poaching.

Yeah they're pretty much the Guild's assassins. They will simply arrest you if your poaching isn't too severe...but touch one scale of an endangered species without a good justification and those guys will make you feel like a jaggi
