MH Wilds “Hunter, the Guild authorizes” is so damn cool Spoiler

The handler in wilds feels so much less like some sidekick and more of a HANDLER. Like, we’re the guild’s blade and she is the hand that guides us. The guild has given her FULL AUTONOMY to act on their behalf, and she alone can decide what we are hunting. The lines also came at really good times during cutscenes and overall just fed the vibes lol. Especially the final fight of low rank? SHIVERS

The quests, and monster parts fund the guild. Scmuck wants the giant ice rabbit to stop eating his snow-carrots? Pay the guild 100k, and the problem goes away. Guild pays the hunter 25%, the handler 25%, and the corpse retrieval team 25%- everything else is profit.

That explains some of it. But expeditions to new areas. Who's paying for those missions. World for example. There's basically no villages around. Not like you got anyone needing that puki-puki tail.

The guild is funding most of it at a loss, because they know it's a whole new land they'll continue to have exclusive rights to. No local villages to split profits with, or pay hush money to. And when the supply ships make regular crossings, the colony can ship back the backlog of rare minerals and parts, sell access to the research data, sell zoning and protection rights...

Sounds pretty corrupt

There are some shady stuffs happening in the guild, like how they hide the fact that the black dragons are real from the masses.

I'd assume the guild is still. You have to remember that just because each game takes place somewhere new doesn't mean all guild activity just stops in the area by the next game.

With how expansive the guild is, the amount of hunters out there, and how expensive hunts are it's probably not hard for the funds to be scrounged together. Especially when a lot of items are sourced locally and only heavy equipment really needs to be shipped in.

There's also the fact that World isn't the first time the guild is in the area, there's five generations of hunters that are there. They didn't all come at once and are pretty well established by the time we arrive.
