MH Wilds “Hunter, the Guild authorizes” is so damn cool Spoiler

The handler in wilds feels so much less like some sidekick and more of a HANDLER. Like, we’re the guild’s blade and she is the hand that guides us. The guild has given her FULL AUTONOMY to act on their behalf, and she alone can decide what we are hunting. The lines also came at really good times during cutscenes and overall just fed the vibes lol. Especially the final fight of low rank? SHIVERS

I also like that she has a clear practical role in the hunt. Like once we've identified a target she's shepherding the rest of the party to safety and setting up a forward operating base while we get to blasting.

We never once had to save her, or chase her down.

Big fan

Half the time she's right there riding around next to you researching the monster. Definitely my favorite handler.

If you look carefully, you can also that if she doesn't get the others to safety, she's standing not too far, crouched in some bushes and taking notes.

I like to think that the notifications during a hunt are actually Alma yelling the info in the canon.

Now, I wish we could talk to her to see a diagram of the monster with which parts are broken and which are not. That would be a cute narrative/gameplay addition.

She actually fills the role of the handler, because you always need her authorization.

She is great!
