Wilds Lance maximum might without Fulgur bonus
Does anyone know if this is still practical?
Ive seen the new meta builds are either 4 gore and 1 zoh, or the newer 4 zoh and 1 mitzu,
But they are both still running maximum might,
I know they are the peak and assume uptime and can play amazing, but for a more average player is it reasonable to keep enough maximum might uptime without the extra stamina bar to slot it in? or should something else be slotted

When you perfect guard you lose the 30% on your counters but stamina replenishes immediately after. Dashing and power guarding also takes a hit without fulgur so charged counter playstyle is the preferred way if you don’t want the bonus.

You can make Power Guard work, but you have to be careful not to charge it too early.
Power Guards cost no stamina on block, they just consume stamina while you're holding it.
If you like to set up your guards a little early and aren't super at last-second blocking, try this:
Set up Charge Counter early. This doesn't cost any stamina to hold, and if you goof the timing on Step 2, this will still do a standard Guard on receiving the hit so you don't get smashed
Drop into Power Guard just before you take the hit
Depending on your timing, this consumes very little stamina, which you will easily recover before MM drops off.
On top of that, you can combo the Perfect Guard into Grand Retribution Thrust after, which has a sexy animation, a high motion value, and a lot of forward momentum that helps with landing the hit against monsters that scoot back after attacking.

Honestly it’s probably a lot better without Fulgur after the TU1 change. The grace period resets every time you hit full stamina now, whereas before it was cumulative I.e. you block a move and restore stamina before the grace period, then block another move. Before TU1 the second block could take you out of MM, after TU1 it wouldn’t.
It does make stamina skills better as well, since restoring stamina before the grace period is up now matters more. Feel like it didn’t really with the fulgur buffer.

Contrary to what you might expect, even an average Lance player can still maintain decent uptime on Maximum might without Second Wind. I would guesstimate over 60% of your hits will be maximum might effect without even trying. Give it a shot.
