Wow. Thanks Trump. I’m feeling so liberated right now. 🙄

u/bl4derdee9 1d ago

don't you feel the liberty of paying more taxes for everything that comes from outside of your country.
just feel how patriotic that feels!

I’m gonna lose my insurance and won’t be able to afford my rejection meds, but so help me I will hang on to watch MAGA die first out of sheer spite.

Contact your coordinator. I know for us we have special safety nets for our folks that come into sudden hardship. I can't really give out more specific details as it could lead to what hospital I work for but your coordinator should be able to navigate you (or anyone else who's in the same situation) to resources. Transplant social work should also be able to help you as well.

And watch what happens to you guys when all these places retaliate with their own tariffs. China already said they would, and now China/Japan/AND South Korea are working together... That's like the majority of where products come from. He's going to put everyone into a dark ass recession. I'm in Toronto currently and I just paid $6, yes $6! For ketchup. 1L.

u/the_simurgh 1d ago

4 bucks for the big bottle here.

8

u/Ali_Cat222 1d ago

Mind you I could've gone to the dollar store and still got it for $2.50/2.75, but I have cancer and I can't be walking more than ten min without exhaustion. Either way our groceries since tariffs have jumped anywhere from $2-5

ETA but with retaliation tariffs soon our reality won't be far off from America's in terms of insane prices. Especially since majority of products aren't made in the USA

u/the_simurgh 1d ago

Yeah im fucking scared i wont be able to afford to eat myself.

5

u/Ali_Cat222 1d ago

This is exactly what they want though, they don't care about those who are seen as lesser than. They care about economically raping and pillaging until they get everything their greedy hands can touch. They got rid of health science research, why? Because cancer=more money so why solve it. They got rid of education and a lady the other day even showed that they've been teaching Jeff bezos and how trump is the best as fucking homework now! They want to keep everyone dumbed down and ignorant and it's despicable. And now they want you to riot in order to stay in office. I'm sad for everyone except for the idiots who voted for him or didn't vote at all.

Crash the economy so your billionaire boy toys can buy more for less

u/eepos96 1d ago

When warren buffet beginsbto sell, you sell.

1

u/Hotdog_Fishsticks 1d ago

I need to figure out/find out when he buys and sells... You got a link or something to watch him?!?

3

u/eepos96 1d ago

I do not know. I simply read some headlines he was selling somewhat. He has been doing it half a year.

1

u/Hotdog_Fishsticks 17h ago

The internet knows all.. I am sure going in some of the stock subs here I could find some information. Those nerds would know.

1

u/eepos96 17h ago

Idk.

(Today)I checked my youtube comments. To my suprise ai had gotten 6000 likes!

I posted "the fact we can guestimate the season 16 mil years ago is astonishing"

(Video was about how scientist have been able to estract pollen fossils from ancient fish gills. Meaning asteroid hit earth potetially in spring.)

Since I typo 16 instead of 36, and bad english, the comment section was divided debating was I sarcastic or not. Flat earther or not.

1

u/Separate-Owl369 1d ago

I hear that he sold last August.

2

u/eepos96 20h ago

He did. I have been waiting for economic crash ever since.

And even though he sold in august, he can now use those billions to buy new stock. So he made correct decision?

21

u/Lanister671 1d ago

It’s so funny because every single bit of trump’s disgusting merch is all made over seas. All he’s doing is ripping off his own short bus full of sheep.

37

u/BetterKev 1d ago

Yes, a 46% tariff in response to a 15% tariff is "reciprocal." That's definitely how that works.

20

u/FreeRemove1 1d ago

Also, tariffs on countries with which you have a trade surplus.

10

u/Dibbix 1d ago

Also "retaliatory" tariffs on random uninhabited islands

3

u/RaedwaldRex 1d ago

I've said it before Trunp is thick as shit and doesn't know what a tariff is.

Walmart gonna have Nordstrom prices.

u/Outrageous_Pay1322 1d ago

I started stockpiling non-perishable food 6 months ago, buying triple of everything that I normally buy. My spare room looks like a grocery store, including a big chest freezer. Neighbors have chickens and eggs, I have bees and honey, and the houses in my immediate neighborhood are starting their veggie gardens. Car has been checked out, and tuned up. Clothing, and all necessities are also stockpiled for me and mine. A year's worth of vaccinations at least, and general health checkup in case the insurance companies go in the toilet too thanks to him. Generator in the garage for when power goes out because nobody will be there to fix things when they break thanks to his firing everybody. I'm not paying his high prices, and they are HIS high prices. Nobody else's. Hopefully when this bullshit passes by the end of the year, prices will come back down. If. If not, I really don't need to buy much of anything until Christmas. I don't trust anything that's going to happen.

I sound like one of those idiot sovereign citizens, but I'm not. They're assholes. I'm old enough to see what's coming, and I'm not going to rub glitter on it. And if you voted for trump, fuck you. Fuck you up the ass with a red hot poker.

The jig is up. He isn’t just dumb on the tariff issue. It is his intention to completely destroy our economy, blame it on Biden (🤣), have his oligarch friends reap massive profits on our destroyed economy, and then “save” us from what he did by the midterms so he can take credit for saving us from what “Biden did to the economy”

It sounds too stupid to work but a year ago we mostly didn’t really believe the GOP would really put up an insurrectionist, felon, traitor as their nominee.

u/niveapeachshine 1d ago

Not even New Zealand was spared. We gave you Lord of the Rings. Why would you do this? WhY?!

8

u/Public_Steak_6933 1d ago

He's purposefully trying to destroy what's left of the middle class. Turn us all into desperate slaves of the rich.

When it smells like shit everywhere you walk, look under your own shoe

4

u/SoccerDad83 1d ago

I’m tired of winning now!

4

u/CuzCuz1111 1d ago

Good to know even the Uber wealthy GOP will be dirt ass poor by the time Trump is through with them… as long as Putin is happy, Trump is happy.

5

u/Reason_Choice 1d ago

Well, I’m feeling pretty owned I guess.

3

u/efyuar 1d ago

Yeah like he is trying to make 109 countries angry at him at once

3

u/TheQuadBlazer 1d ago

It just occurred to me that not only is it a sneaky tax. But a tax in a way that the federal government gets to keep all the money. Your taxes don't necessarily go up. But all that extra money that you would have spent being more taxed, in this form, has no possibility of a refund/exemption.

It's so obviously scammy

3

u/EccentricHubris 1d ago

This is so fucking funny honestly, as someone who is living in a shithole 3rd world country, I am very curious to see just how fast and how far the living standard in the US is gonna plummet.

The best part is that they did it to themselves XD

4

u/AppropriateRub4033 1d ago

Except Russia 🥰

4

u/GoldenPuffi 1d ago

Everyone… except Russia.

Let that sink in.

u/VoodooDoII 1d ago

Didn't know that when I was learning about the Great depression in school, I'd get to experience it myself.

1

u/Ninja_attack 1d ago

These folk were bitching about prices under Biden, I'm sure they're gonna be just as mad about the upcoming price raises coming up with this.

1

u/kermitthebeast 1d ago

Where's that Russian stock broker saying he's gonna become santa and drinking to the death of the economy?

1

u/OMG_IM_A_CARROT 1d ago

And on Antarctica. Bastard Penguins have been ripping us off for decades!! /s

1

u/ramriot 1d ago

So, all these tariffs are essentially import taxes, right?

What additional representation will people get for this taxation?

Seems to me a negative answer was how this all started & how an aging mad king got rejected.

1

u/doodle02 1d ago

There’s an old adage for this:

If you run into an asshole once a day, you ran into an asshole, big whoop. If you run into two assholes you got unlucky. if you run into more, you’re the asshole.

welp, turns out america is the asshole now. yayyyyy.

1

u/MarsMonkey88 1d ago

I know that he’s probably really busy, and all, but if the ghost of Fred Trump could please try to find a second to go hug his son, I feel like that might go a long way towards walking us back from the apocalypse.

1

u/undecimbre 1d ago

At this point he's just playing DND with these random ass numbers

1

u/MidnightNo1766 1d ago

The world is about to discover just how much they don't need the United States.

1

u/Shiranui42 1d ago

Look up the Smoot Hawley tariffs that worsened the great depression https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoot–Hawley_Tariff_Act

u/420MrGreenThumb420 1d ago

Hmmmm every country except Russia hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

1

u/TedBaxter_WJM-TVNews 1d ago

Well, everyone but Daddy Vladdy over in Russia.. Probably because the USA is just West Russia now.

1

u/Separate-Owl369 1d ago

…to be fair, he’s not angry at Russia or N. Korea.

You know, with all these tariffs being applied it would be something if, combined with other reasonable austerity measures, it allowed these countries to tackle their debt and strengthen their economic autonomy.

Any corresponding effects for the US economy offset by benefits for the crony class, of course.

Edit: not advocating for any of this of course. But trump's stupidity and arrogance uniting the world against the US and other benefits that the US would not share, is just cake icing.
