Well I said most not all. This doesn't change the fact that most still support him. I am happy you are one of the good ones, but I have no clue where you get this idea that most Republicans are done with him. It simply isn't true.

55% of Republicans who use Fox News as a primary news source say there is nothing he could do to lose their support (compared to 29% who don't use Fox so there's a big pointer there).

A poster below me quoted 91% and I can't find the source for that but most sources I found say the party as a whole is hovering between 85-90% support.

I always have trouble with these kind of numbers. Like these kind of numbers can never be accurate cause not everyone can participate in this. Also the fact remains that there is no total number of people used in this research. It could be 100, 100.000 or anything else. I wasn't asked for this research and yet they act like everyone was asked. It is pretty common for Fox News to ramp up some bullshit numbers. It wouldn't be the first time they did it. One of the reasons I don't like them.

To represent a large sample you just need 1000 people -- after that, getting more subjects doesn't really make a difference. This is demonstrated by the consistency between sources while all using small, different samples. So I wouldn't really expect anyone to ask you, but that's beside the point. There are still problems with polling.

I don't mind your inclination to question these things. I always take polling with a grain of salt. There are many factors at play. A big one being that polling companies begin by attempting to judge the electorate's demographics -- who will be voting by age, gender, region etc. So if there is anything here they forget to account for polls can be way off. And of course, there is the simple fact that media bias exists everywhere else, and it is naive to thing it would end at the polls.

In this case though, I'm not sure. Trust me, I want these numbers to be false as much as you do. I definitely didn't go to Fox News for this, and I don't see why any of my sources would have fudged them in Trump's favor. I mean I guess you could say it "makes conservatives look bad" or whatever, really, all everyone on the left wants to see is that Republican support % DROP, we don't care how bad you look. So if there's any fudging you'd think it would be down.

I am always skeptical about polling. Polling is more based on a general consensus between the average people and not aimed at how the individual may react to something if that makes sense to you. I am definitely curious to look more in depth into this though.

Media bias will always be a thing though so that's why checking multiple sources is the best thing. I assumed you looked at a fox news story and called it a day. My bad, sorry about that.
