No, they do give a fuck about lesbians. They're ok because the straight men who rule society can actually understand having an attraction to women. In some countries (ruled by straight men of course) male homosexuality is explicitly banned but lesbianism isn't.

But lesbians of course are just women seeking attention, who just need a real man to bring them back to their senses. /s

Ah, the good old

"She 'thinks' she doesn't like men because she hasn't been with me, now I shall proceed to turn her straight with the power of my MIGHTY DIIICK "

I read that James Bond book as a kid.

Who would have thought someone named Pussy Galore was gay?

The mental images that gave me as a kid still disturb me.

But those books were great. Where else would a kid in the 90s learn about Chinegros and James Bond's theory that the rise of feminism led to the creation of homosexuality?

It was “Octopussy” that fucked my mind up as a kid... huh? Wha? How? Ugh....

I was spared that one. I'd seen the title before I knew enough to find it twisted, so I just thought it involved 8 cats.

Octopussy is a collection of short stories. In the titular story, James Bond comes to Jamaica to tell some former British government official that he knows he has been selling secrets to the Soviets (or something like that, I forget the exact plot). Rather than go back to England to face his punishment, he does the honorable British thing and commits suicide by octopus.

The movie kept the same plot, but it made one small alteration. Instead of a British spy in the Caribbean committing suicide, it involved a group of lesbian circus clowns from India being used by a Russian KGB general to bomb a West German carnival for the purpose of starting WW III.

The movie was a seamless adaptation of the book.

Seriously, I live in the US and the amount of times my sister has been told she just hasn't been with the right man is obscene. She told a guy she has a girlfriend and oh boy all he heard was "let's have a threesome".

I’m pretty sure a lot of them are a little gayer than they’d like to admit. As it is with most.

Yeah bc straight men just HATE asses.

u/Miracletank Dec 29 '19

You think about gay sex a lot for someone claiming that it’s gross.

8

u/scrotuscus Dec 29 '19

But, like, if you don't like gay sex...don't have any? I fail to see where being grossed out by a sexual act means that any has to care about it going on between two consensual adults.

You make an entire argument of why you think homosexuality is viewed a certain way and then someone says well what about these other parts and you basic say na that's gross too.

Brilliant analysis.

u/BootsySubwayAlien Dec 29 '19

Because in your mind, sex requires one partner to be dominant? And it’s only ok if the non-dominant partner is female?

Cause that’s not fucked up at all.

No offense but that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen on Reddit. Almost every guy I've ever been with has asked for anal at some point. I even broke up with someone because he was obsessed with it and tried to force me.

I agree with this in part, and you would think that’s the case. But when I walk around seeing straight people making out etc I don’t give it a second thought. When they see me and my girlfriend holding hands or hugging for a minute before we leave they will make passing comments to say it’s gross, say anything because we’re existing in the same space they are. I agree with the wearing it on your sleeve and making everything about being gay, those people drive me nuts and sometimes I even make “jokes” to them about how it’s no wonder straight people hate us. I disagree with the part about leashes etc but I do understand. I don’t need to know about what that man does in his private time, but I also don’t need to see titties on every bar I walk by, or strip clubs with huge signs advertising women, or adult stores marketing to men by showing boobs or something. And maybe those don’t equate, but personally I think if we’re gonna be bothered about one persons sexuality we might as well be bothered about all the public sexuality.

I agree with you wholeheartedly..... I don’t personally know these people that voice their thoughts out loud. However, I am aware that everything is relative to the individual. I am not a fan of over the top pda. Wanna hold hands, hug, hell, I hug everyone... but no one needs to see anyone’s tongue half way down the throat of another in a public display. I think children witness way too much sex in advertisements. It is not healthy and I would assume has a negative impact on development. So yes, I’m bothered by boobs on billboards. Stay classy. Have your advertisement but use innuendo or use some sense. Btw, people wether straight, gay or something different... there are a shit ton of awful people. When you hear those comments, know that they don’t represent anyone but themselves....
