Well first of all, most likely she was indoctrinated by her social environment to become religious though let's ignore that for now.
I guess you could argue that she wants to wear that type of clothing, it doesn't take away anything from the fact that it's a symbol of patriarchal oppression of women. It's about as empowering as white christian women who argue that they only belong in the kitchen and should not be able to vote.

I don't give a fuck if someone want to dress up in drag. If it makes them feel like it's their best self, be the best queen you can be.
Who cares what religion you are?
