discussion *NSYNC: Why did JC Chasez dive while Justin Timberlake thrived?

Seeing the Bye Bye Baby video for the first time in almost 25 years, it’s hard to understand why the suave lead singer, who was bound for great things, never broke through solo. Instead, the cute boy with the sheep hair became the “Prince of Pop”.

Is it really that easy as pointing the finger to “Justified” being a banger, a controversial Superbowl performance and him getting cozy quickly with people like Timbaland, P.Diddy, Nelly, The Black Eyed Peas and Pharrell Williams?

Plenty of great producers have literally made the singer. or elevated a mediocre to bad artists into stars. And plenty of fantastic singers have failed because of picking producers that...weren't for them. Its just as integral as any other part of a successful or failed album/artist.

Yeah but does Justin even really sing? Or is he fully a product of autotune. What I'm saying is that he's an industry plant and it's fully questionable whether he has ANY talent besides dancing, or not. Credit for his success should go ENTIRELY to the producers.

As what my previous statement was saying... With the right producer... You don't have to be the best singer. A great producer and an average singer will often have a better end product than a great singer with an average producer.

an industry plant is someone who is made to look like they organically rose to popular, but are secretly backed by a major label. justin timberlake has always been openly an industry product ever since nsync, so very much not a plant.

All plants are openly industry products... nobody is ever that secretive about it... the thing is the fans don't care.

I don’t think he would win most singing competitions, but he can hold a tune. I don’t think his albums would sell any fewer if he wasn’t autotuned. I think it’s the songs and his performance of them that work. It’s not for me, but apparently many others have liked it. Even a full industry plant that needs all the auto tune in the world contributes something in the vocal performance.
