r/NBA is back up
This community will remain open but will most likely be less active. Everyone is encouraged to keep posting and interacting here, submissions are open to all and anyone can post tweets/links/opinions/etc.
I won’t be as active just because I have many things I’m busy with irl. Everyone is welcome here and allowed to post, the rules aren’t hyper strict just keep it on topic and don’t be assholes.
Access to online NBA discourse for millions shouldn’t be controlled by a handful of users. Having an alternate r/nba type space instead of one subreddit having a monopoly should enable a healthier dynamic. Thanks everyone!

Since the 2002-03 NBA season, GMs were surveyed on who they predicted would win MVP. Here are the results over the years.

What's so different about the Thompson twins?
I've seen multiple times on Instagram, YouTube and so on claims that the Thompson twins have unprecedented athleticism or we never seen someone like them before. What's up with it? I don't follow neither of the teams, so, I don't have the right sample size. Are they really generational?

Now that Duke has lost can we please dispel the idea that the best NCAA could even take on a G League team
We literally had people arguing Duke could beat a G League team here not even a week ago and they can't even beat other NCAA teams consistently. Flagg is great and I'm sure Knueppel and Maluach can find success in professional basketball but y'all need to slow your roll on how good these teams actually are.

What caused Linsanity to die?
In my eyes it’s injuries and the league just finding him out
Lin was genuinely a good player who went on the extraordinary run that we all recognize but it was a really short stint, I consistently see people ask why Jeremy didn’t hit the same afterwards and I feel like that is solely on the league finding him out. Once the league got used to Lin, adjusted to him, and figured him out he struck out. Personally I believe the heat game ended Linsanity, the BIG 3 going against Lin and proving you can topple him seemed like it took his confidence, combined that with a loss in minutes; you’ll get what you expected.
But even after that he played relatively well. Until injuries, injuries plague

Who do you have ranked higher all-time, Kobe Bryant or Stephen Curry?
I think this debate is rather close personally but I still give the edge to Steph, so I'd like to see differing takes from both sides
Kobe Bryant's accolades:
5x NBA Champion
11x 1st Team All-NBA
15x All-NBA
12x All-Def
1x MVP
2x Finals MVP
18x All-Star
-----------------------------
Stephen Curry's accolades:
4x NBA Champion
4x 1st Team All-NBA
10x All-NBA
2x MVP
1x Finals MVP
11x All-Star

Why does luka complain to the refs every possession like I get sometimes it might be a foul but goddamn get back on D. That type of shii gone cost them games in the playoffs.

Can a 6'0 ever be a GOAT candidate?
Since all GOAT candidate are at least 6'6 and taller. MJ is 6'6. Then you have taller guys lik Lebron, Wilt and Kareem, Russell.
I believe if 6'3 Curry had Westbrook/Morant athleticism would be one.
But what would it take for a "little man" in NBA standards a 6 footer to be in GOAT conversation? Would someone with Iverson athleticism/speed and scoring, ballhandling of Kyrie, IQ/Defense of Chris Paul, Stockton's passing and longevity and shooting of Curry be one? Or would he be too short regardless? Where would you rank a player with such skills?

Clippers
I don’t really think anyone’s paying attention to them. 13-3 recently. With Kawhi healthy averaging 26 a game last 13 games. And with how Harden and Zubac are playing. Being 3rd best defense in the league. I don’t see why they can’t go deep into the playoffs. As a Clipper fan, I am not saying we’re going to win the championship but I d be happy with a trip to the WCF. Most of people had us losing 50 games but it was the opposite and the team that got PG lost 50 games(Sixers)

PROOF you can lead the league in Steals and not be a great defender
Allen Iverson lead the league in steals 3 times and I don't think anyone is putting him on their all defensive 1st or 2nd teams

Who makes the most 3s this season? Ant (303 3PM, 4G left), Beasley (301, 4) or Steph (293, 5)

Kerr got a ring in 33% of the seasons between 96’-‘22
Saw this stat in a thread here earlier this week and it blew my mind. Kerr legitimately got a ring in a third of the seasons across a 27 year span. Sweet mother of god.
Tell me your favorite unknown and completely outrageous stat.

Doc Rivers saying he doesn’t get enough credit for getting the three wins is like saying we should give credit to Duke for having a 6-point lead with 30 seconds left in the game only to lose by 3.
This shows how ridiculous his statement was. You gotta fiinish the job.
