With Juju being injured, it's not an easy answer though I feel like next year is Kitts' year to really shine.

News Geno Sets New NCAAW Record

With the 2025 title, Geno (4)/UConn WBB now pass Summitt (3)/Tenn WBB and Kim Mulkey (3) for most decades with a championship. Summitt previously had victories in the 80s (87, 89); 90s (91, 96-98); and 00s (07, 08). Kim Mulkey also has a championship in 3 separate decades (2005, 2012, 2019, 2022) but across two different schools.

Casual/Offseason With NCAA Womens basketball over, what now?

With transfers & portals going on. Coaches & programs are gonna try to land some key pieces & fill gaps that they have. Maybe watch some baseball/softball? Hopefully, Coach Paye can rebuild this prestigious program in her own vision & get Stanford Womens Basketball rolling again.

Recruiting Top Transfer Potential Landing Spots

Now that the tournament is over and the portal closes in 2 weeks we’ll start seeing more commitments. I’m curious on everyone’s thoughts about where some of the top transfers will land. I’m going to focus on these players:

  • Ta’Niya Latson: I know she’s been recruited by LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt but im definitely hoping for Vanderbilt. I think she’s just what they need to push them to the next level, and if not them then Tennessee but i can see her choosing South Carolina because of her ties to the program

  • Olivia Miles: Based off the rumors i’m going to follow suite and say TCU. I could see her being a good fit at maryland tho

  • Cotie McMahon: Ole Miss—they’ve also been recruiting her pretty hard but i think she matches the grit of the program and it would be a better fit than LSU for example

  • Serah Williams: Probably UConn, maybe ND but i’m leaning towards UConn. They need someone to fill Jana’s role see edit and Serah can do that plus more

  • Gianna Kneepkens: ND, I think she’d be a good fit for their program. Similar to Citron but more of a high volume scorer

  • Sa’Myah Smith: Baylor, she’s from Texas and I think she could fit well into what they’re doing over there

  • Danie Carnegie: USC, they need some guards to come in to replace Howell and Heckel. They only have one recruit coming in (Jazzy Davidson) who’s really good but their roster is lacking next season because of the grads, transfers, and Juju being out

  • Toni Morgan: LSU, I think they’re still searching for a veteran pg. They have some very good recruits coming in but not the pg they need

  • Jalyn Brown: Baylor. She took visits with Michigan St., Baylor, and WVU. Very good & underrated player—I can see her and Sa’Myah Smith doing big things at Baylor if that’s the route they choose to go

These are just my predictions, I’m curious to hear yours and why

*edit, i definitely thought Jana was a senior so ignore that—she’s not going anywhere

Obviously, these things have to be pre-printed, but only half of it gets used. I've always wondered what they do with the losing team's swag.

Recruiting Expect some portal commitments today

With the final approval hearing in the House v. NCAA settlement hearing set to take place tomorrow April 7, I would expect athletes to sign thier collective agreements today with uncertainty surrounding the "fair market value" clearing house requiring all NIL compensation from third party ad revenue exceeding $600 to be reported and vetted. I believe all contracts signed prior to tomorrow are essentially grandfathered in and won't be subject to scrutiny. A few states have introduced legislation to block the rule requiring income to be reported (Orgeon, Nebraska) but I'm not sure where all that currently stand.

This is just something to consider as we watch the natty today and celebrate another amazing year of WBB. If I'm wrong on any of it just remember......imlikelymistaken.

Discussion Alright I watched the replay of the 30 point beat down UConn gave us

They showed the replay on espn 2(yes I tortured myself)

So It was 11-11 everyone was playing fine Feagin had gotten hit in the eye earlier and tried to play through it but after two straight possessions of an air ball and missing a post entry pass by like 30 feet it was obvious she was gonna be done for the day. ended up being 16-11 and she’s subbed out

Now here’s where all hell breaks loose

South Carolina decides to put a very strange lineup on the floor.

Maddy McDaniel , Pao Pao, Tessa,Joyce and Chloe

Kk,Shade, Paige, azzi, Sarah strong

If you’ve watched us play this group has never been on the floor together hey looked absolutely lost……Maddy is just a freshman and UConn knew this so they pounced.

On offense Pao Pao had to run point due to Maddy’s inexperience, Joyce has Paige on her 3 or 4 possessions in a row no one notices

they take bad shot after bad shot tons of over dribbling very stagnant, no ball movement it’s nothing but confusion.

This lineup didn’t know what to do and it was obvious they don’t play a ton of minutes together because on the defensive end

Shade hit 3 3s just off being wide open cause of defensive lapses. nobody knowing who they’re guarding because everyone’s out of position.

Chloe ends up on shade multiple times and leaves her. Joyce ends up on azzi she stays in the paint she hits the 3.

it’s a 15 point game starters come back in minus Pao Pao but it’s too late we took our two best defenders off the floor at the same time and we paid for it UConn is on fire.

16 point game with about 3 minutes to go in the half and sakima comes in…….tessa pao pao, Sakima, Raven and Bree again very strange rotation we end up down 22 at the half.

2nd half was 25-21 in the third and 17-14 in the 4th

(for some reason Paige azzi and Sarah didn’t sub out until the 1 minute mark despite us waiving the white flag pretty early)

So here’s the reason I feel good for tomorrow

The big momentum swing happened with a lineup we will never ever run again which went -16 and the other lineup we never ran and will never run again was -6 with sakima.

Often times when you blow a team out and have to play them again it can be a disadvantage.

you’re gonna play exactly how you did the first time because you won by 29 while the losing team has a clear view of what they need to fix.

UConn is gonna feel like they’re playing a completely different team and in a way they are.
