Discussion How do you prioritise what you buy/collect?
So I went a bit nuts at the start and bought a lot of the highly praised stuff in this sub.
As I’ve been reading through I’ve started to learn more about my own tastes/preferences and have decided to sell some of my books that I’ve read. Starting with Brubaker’s Captain America run.
I think I’m going to focus on some team stuff. FF, Avengers and X-men. And then prioritise some street level heroes like Spider-man, Daredevil and Punisher.
I still have my Thor and Hulk books too. Not sure what to do with them yet.
Just wondered how everyone else is collecting?
Do you prioritise stories, certain characters or collect a bit of everything?
Did you have any realisations about your own collections or change your mind part way through?
What tips would you have for others starting out?

Pickup First two omnibuses. Now I’m hooked…
Yeah this format is everything it is talked up to be. But, I want to know how you determine what format to buy a story?
Heres my idea for my collection: I collect the legendary runs in omnibus, self contained stories in TPB, and then silver age will be a mix of TPB for the major keys, and then single issues here and there, as I actually really like reading random isolated silver age stories

Pickup Tales of The Jedi!!
My first Omnibus arrived today!!, perpetual employement and knowing books only have 5% tax is a financially slippery slope.
It still baffles me how massive this is
Been wanting to read these for a while now but the epic collections are out of print and expensive, this one is mad expensive too. But it was down to $125.25 (after tax) in Amazon, compared to $187 normal price.
Wanna get most of the rest of SW Legends comics, Mainly SW Republic, Legacy and the Empire collections.
Heard a lot of good of the KOTOR comics so I'll snag The Old Republic Omnibus when it goes down in price.

Questions/Help Needed When do I switch back and forth between GL and GLC vol 1 omnis?
When do I switch back and forth between these omnis? I also have the tales of sinestro corps tpb for the missing tales of the sinestro corps issues so when do those missing issues come in. I'm also missing the ion guardian of the universe 12 issues and was wondering if those are necessary.

Questions/Help Needed Hello everyone! What do you think about my omnibus collection? Any recommendations?
After 9 months, I’ve managed to get most of the ones I really wanted. There are still plenty of others on my wishlist, and I’ll definitely keep collecting.
If you have any omnibus recommendations that match my taste, feel free to share them! Just keep in mind that I can’t afford to buy every volume in a series due to budget constraints — I usually get the best one and read the rest online.

Pickup Some nice rare finds in the wild!
First time ever seeing the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe hardcover in person. Never thought I would find it for a decent price. It goes for over $200 online. After selling some books to Half Price, I got it down to around $101.
Picked up rare sealed Complete Peanuts 1967-1970 boxset paperback edition (love their feel and not a fan of the hardcover designs). Now only need the 1963-1966 boxset to complete my collection.
And finally, the best one: Prince Valiant volume 8! A copy sold for $280 on eBay just a few days ago. I gave a $240 best offer and am so glad they didn’t accept. I ended up saving over $200!
Was just a random stop at a random LCS and I had zero expectations to find PV8. Easily one of the unlikeliest best finds of my comic buying career!

Discussion Dillema regarding the Adam Warlock and especially the two Captain Mar-Vell Omnibuses.
I am interested in collecting the Jim Starlin Cosmic Marvel run up to Infinity War. I already own the TPB of Infinity War. As well as the first 26 issues of his Silver Surfer run and the 2 issue Thanos Quest prequel in the Return of Thanos TPB and the Thanos Quest Epic. I also plan to get the Stan Lee/John Buscema Omnibus Vol. 1 Re-Print of Silver Surfer since I find him a very fascinating character that I want to explore more of. As well his comics run up to before Jim Starlin takes over in the upcoming Silver Surfer: Return to the Spaceways Omnibus out in May.
Anyway I wouldn't mind reading his 70s run on both Captain Mar-Vell and Adam Warlock physically to add to my Road to Infinity Gauntlet Collection. However my dilemma is that the first 24 issues of the original Captain Mar-Vell run isn't by writer Jim Starlin. And so far there isn't Epics being announced. I do plan to get the Death of Captain Marvel Omnibus since it actually collects the majority of Jim Starlin's run. That includes his other Marvel Comics crossovers featuring Thanos and the Marvel Graphic Novel Death of Captain Marvel written by Jim Starlin. Cost wise, it would be cheaper to buy an Epic of just the start of Starlin's issues if that option was available. And Adam Warlock only has one Omnibus collecting Jim Starlin's initial run. His 90s Warlock and Infinity Watch run I don't believe has all been collected in Omnibus or other Collected Edition format. I could be wrong.
I don't know whether to jump the gun on the first Captain Mar-Vell Omnibus incase Epics do get announced. And I'm currently not reading Infinity Gauntlet since I'm waiting until after I read the initial Silver Surfer runs. Since I am invested in his character while reading Lee/Kirby's Fantastic Four run. I'd imagine Vol. 2 and 3 of Captain Mar-Vell Epics would collect Jim Starlin's initial run.
I might go back to his original issues later. Or maybe read them first on Marvel Unlimited sparingly. Trying not to be impulsive with my comic budget as I have been in the past. Which having ADHD is something I consistently need to work hard on.

Pickup February/March/April Haul
Whew! You'll notice logo changes on Scalped vol 1 and 2. Ditching Black Label and bring back Vertigo.
I think I'm about done with collecting Geoff Johns including Aquaman, JSA and Green Lantern.
Web of Spider-Man...mostly I'd enjoy Kraven's Last Hunt.
That completes my Daredevil run with Nocenti and JRJR. unless Ahmad Daredevil is really good.
Enjoy rest of weekend!
