Discussion Favorite On Cinema Oscar Special and why

My favorite special is the 10th Annual Special, mainly because I enjoyed Pick Your Pinnochio. Felt more of like a play than the other specials. Very immersive and the characters are hilarious and have good chemistry.

Discussion META: is there anything out there that actually comes close to on cinema comedy wise?

I’m curious if anyone’s ever found anything that compares?

I don’t mean is it “as funny” (lots of other funny stuff out there of course) but I find it pretty amazing that no one’s tried to create their own universe in the way that on cinema has. I find on cinema to be so inspiring in this way and so visionary. It’s wild to me that no one has even ripped it off and tried to do it poorly. Do these things exist?

Please post links below if you know of stuff that compares. Thanks!

Discussion Question: In your opinion what is the single best OCATC episode from seasons 1 through 6? Oscer Specials don't count, I'm talking normal episodes only.

Discussion What is your favorite Oscar Special?

Mine is the 6th Oscar special. We have Gregg talking about A Star is Born constantly while Laffy Taffy tries to host the show, Tim hijaking the show and showing a countdown to zero hour, all of the people just watching as Tim holds them hostage, Mark in a coma painted gold and being posed as the Oscar statuette, Tim stealing the instruments from the musicians, Kramer vs Kramer 2, Tim’s magnet vest destroying the archive, and Mark waking up to Tim playing Bohemian Rhapsody while Gregg tries to play the tapes that were ruined. I give it 5 bags of popcorn and 2 bags of soda.

Discussion Which is your favorite post-season-X version of Tim(/New)?

Post image

A shapeshifter of a man, he’s had so many versions of himself and they’ve all been so great. One that always makes me laugh just at the sight of him is on cinema and more in the morning Tim. This was a high point just in terms of the appearance comedy throughout this entire season. Makeup, hair, wardrobe, his facial expressions and just the way he carries himself this season - def a high point (no pun intended)!
