That's King Von, a notoriously ruthless and deceased drill rapper known for needing to get revenge or "get back". Maybe Steam is taking vengeance for the guy who got hacked? That's all I've got.
I assumed he meant drama filled and fake. In the UK, you do find a lot of poser drill rappers who pretend to be violent, but there’s also a lot of actual murders involved in the scene. It’s like 50/50 people who’d cry if they got cornered by a 13 year old girl and people who would actually stab you if you mildly insult them.
as someone who's a fan (yeah yeah I know), it's insane the amount of censorship they need to use because it references real life cases and can be used in court, a lot of "if you know you know" references to real life beef and problems, the lore runs DEEP it's pretty morbidly fascinating
and you can see in artists that come up from the genre what kind of person they are, a lot of rappers who actually had talent (lyrical content aside) end up dead or locked up for life, whilst others learn to distance themselves from the streets and change their lyrical content over time to make more of a career
In Chicago (birthplace of drill) literally all of the original drill rappers are dead or in jail except for chief keef and maybe g herbo (can’t remember if he’s locked).
Pretty much all of them have confirmed kills too. King Von is confirmed to have at least 3 I’m aware of, but I’ve seen anywhere from 7 to 12 mentioned before. Sad part is a majority of the people in the drill scene were killed as teenagers, some as young as 13. Chicago drill is as real as it gets. That’s why it has such a dedicated cult following.
Sure thing. This “soap opera” star pictured above literally lived the life he rapped about. Check out “Rap’s First Serial Killer” on YouTube. Personally killed like 17 people IIRC. A lot of his songs have to do with murders/crimes he actually committed, or about the gang life/mentality he was raised in. I dont think it still counts as cheesy melodrama when the subject matter is personal experience
While a lot of it is, if you've got some time watch the Trap Lore Ross video on the Jacksonville scene, it's honestly baffling and extremely sad how many young lives have been lost over this nonsense.
Drill rap is stupid, it shouldn't be mainstreamed at all. You have a better chance at WWE being a better soap opera because it's not glorifying violence.
Quite frankly drill “lore” is way deeper than anything WWE could conjure up. There’s literally hour long videos breaking down the history and feuds between different gangs, and how it bleeds into the music.
I’m not saying it’s a morally good thing, just that it’s entertaining as shit.
I mean, it hits different when it's actually real and people have actually died from the feuds.
Ya know, rather than being written. In a writers room, by writers. And then they do dress-rehearsal (Sorry, Walk-Throughs), and then perform it with numerous safety measures in place.
Yeah … and you also realize a lot of those gang wars and rivalries date back to the 80s and 90s, so in that regard it’s equal in terms of “storyline” length. Plus like someone else said, it hits different when you know it’s real.
Nah it's stupid tbh, I have better entertainment watching my dog trying catch a squirrel. We are in the wrong for that because now people want the clout over some property that they don't even know or a program that is bigger than you?
