That's King Von, a notoriously ruthless and deceased drill rapper known for needing to get revenge or "get back". Maybe Steam is taking vengeance for the guy who got hacked? That's all I've got.

drill rapper

drill rap is just a soap opera, prove me wrong.

Define soap opera in this context

He’s probably saying it’s vapid and drama filled or something, I really hate that type of derision personally

I assumed he meant drama filled and fake. In the UK, you do find a lot of poser drill rappers who pretend to be violent, but there’s also a lot of actual murders involved in the scene. It’s like 50/50 people who’d cry if they got cornered by a 13 year old girl and people who would actually stab you if you mildly insult them.

The neat thing about that is that both sides are equally lame either way

Dunno, I’d rather someone cosplay being a psychopath than someone who’d shank you because you said their music sucks

Both is bad, because both influences kids to do stupid shit

as someone who's a fan (yeah yeah I know), it's insane the amount of censorship they need to use because it references real life cases and can be used in court, a lot of "if you know you know" references to real life beef and problems, the lore runs DEEP it's pretty morbidly fascinating

and you can see in artists that come up from the genre what kind of person they are, a lot of rappers who actually had talent (lyrical content aside) end up dead or locked up for life, whilst others learn to distance themselves from the streets and change their lyrical content over time to make more of a career

Where the chill and reasonable drill rappers at

It stops being drill if its chill and reasonable

where the drill and treasonable chill rappers at

I mean, the NYC drill rap scene is literally basically all murderers and proud of it.

In Chicago (birthplace of drill) literally all of the original drill rappers are dead or in jail except for chief keef and maybe g herbo (can’t remember if he’s locked).

Pretty much all of them have confirmed kills too. King Von is confirmed to have at least 3 I’m aware of, but I’ve seen anywhere from 7 to 12 mentioned before. Sad part is a majority of the people in the drill scene were killed as teenagers, some as young as 13. Chicago drill is as real as it gets. That’s why it has such a dedicated cult following.

You are so accurate lol. Check out r/ukdrill. I always see a video of someone crying/stabbed or beat up

2

u/Bored_Amalgamation 1d ago

I really hate that type of derision

you must not like drill then

1

u/PaulAllensCharizard 1d ago

What do you mean? Drill is one of my favorite genres

1

u/Bored_Amalgamation 1d ago

then you like shitty derision

2

u/torn-ainbow 1d ago

Always beefing.

Professional wrestling is a soap opera. Drill rap is destroying the lives of real people.

u/ReverseCarry 1d ago

Sure thing. This “soap opera” star pictured above literally lived the life he rapped about. Check out “Rap’s First Serial Killer” on YouTube. Personally killed like 17 people IIRC. A lot of his songs have to do with murders/crimes he actually committed, or about the gang life/mentality he was raised in. I dont think it still counts as cheesy melodrama when the subject matter is personal experience

While a lot of it is, if you've got some time watch the Trap Lore Ross video on the Jacksonville scene, it's honestly baffling and extremely sad how many young lives have been lost over this nonsense.

Drill rap is stupid, it shouldn't be mainstreamed at all. You have a better chance at WWE being a better soap opera because it's not glorifying violence.

5

u/UnamusedAF 1d ago

Quite frankly drill “lore” is way deeper than anything WWE could conjure up. There’s literally hour long videos breaking down the history and feuds between different gangs, and how it bleeds into the music.

I’m not saying it’s a morally good thing, just that it’s entertaining as shit.

3

u/wabuxiwanbeixiaode 1d ago

Hour long videos compared to nearly forty years of WWE storylines. Alright man.

6

u/Feral_Taylor_Fury 1d ago

I mean, it hits different when it's actually real and people have actually died from the feuds.

Ya know, rather than being written. In a writers room, by writers. And then they do dress-rehearsal (Sorry, Walk-Throughs), and then perform it with numerous safety measures in place.

5

u/UnamusedAF 1d ago

Yeah … and you also realize a lot of those gang wars and rivalries date back to the 80s and 90s, so in that regard it’s equal in terms of “storyline” length. Plus like someone else said, it hits different when you know it’s real.

"storylines"

1

u/bigdaddydopeskies 1d ago

Nah it's stupid tbh, I have better entertainment watching my dog trying catch a squirrel. We are in the wrong for that because now people want the clout over some property that they don't even know or a program that is bigger than you?

What

You took the word out my mouth lol
