Pom Pic Hi. It’s me. Sussy. And I’ve been BETRAYED. 😒💕🤣

So today my hooman said we were going for my “last vaccines.” I was brave 🐾. I didn’t cry (okay maybe just a lil whimper 😢). I thought I was DONE. Retired. A free pup.

BUT NO. She said I still need my rabies 💉, leptospirosis 🦠, and another booster 💪 soon. EXCUSE ME??

Anyway… I guess I forgive her because she took me to Starbucks after and got me my very first puppuccino ☕️. 10/10. Life-changing. I wore it proudly on my nose like a trophy 🐶.

Then—AND THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WORSE—I got home and got a BATH 🛁. A full soapy betrayal. Now I smell like flowers 🌸 and can’t even roll in the grass to fix it.

For reference, I now weigh a whole 5 pounds of attitude and fluff—and I expect to be treated accordingly.

Currently ignoring my hooman but also following her everywhere… just in case there’s another puppuccino.

– Sussy, age 3.5 months, 5 lbs, fluffy & dramatic

My Pom loves to catch mice

I had no idea poms were good hunters. At just 4 months, this guy has a high prey drive…he has caught 2 mice in the last 2 days in the backyard. Not going to lie it’s very disturbing seeing this cutie try to destroy the mouse afterwards. He gets very aggressive when I try to take it away. He growls and even wants to bite.

Question Anyone else think Poms are dogs that run on cat software? 😂

Upvotes

Sometimes I feel like my Pom acts more like a cat than a dog. He's even been mistaken for a cat a couple times by little kids and older folk 😂. Anyone else relate?

Question What made you decide to have a Pom?

I am just curious the thought/decision process behind you picking a Pom (if any)? Did you have any other dogs before or maybe what would you had picked otherwise?

For us, it was some semi thorough research. I also had grew up with a rottweiler, so I definitely don't want a big dog. We lived in a flat where even having a medium size dog will be a pain and we don't need a car in London. I also wanted a dog that is small, light (can easily carry on the tube) and looks cuddly. We were considing a Shiba but GF found out they tend not to be very affectionate and stubborn (yes poms are stubborn). She was very hesitant to get a small dog and now she found Chewie too big (2.8kg) and want a small Chihuahua. For me she is the perfect size and easy to travel with.

I love this boy so much. He's only 1 1/2 years but i feels like I had him yesterday. Excluding the puppy part. I got him in August of 2023 and he loves the family and my friends 🧡

Are retractable dog leashes safe for Poms?

Post image
Upvotes

My dog Pickles chewed through his last dog lead, so I thought I would try a retractable dog leash. The retractable rope is very skinny and for some reason I feel that I’m hurting him more when I pull back on the leash than with a normal lead. This could just be in my head (he does not yelp or suggest he is hurt), I just feel it’s more harsh than the lead. I do use a Voyager harness for him (XS). Does anyone else use a retractable leash with skinny rope for their Pom? Or have any feedback on these types of leashes?

Thanks!!

Question Grooming

We where told we had to sedate ours due to his aggressiveness. The medication we were given does calm him down. Anyone else with the same issue?
