Of course Hegseth has templar crosses tattooed on him. Peformative masculinity all the way.

Allthough, given the fate of knight's templar, Hegseth might want to keep looking over his shoulder or he might end up being on the chopping block.

Or just quite literally a super old Christian symbol. Being as he was in the military and Christian it's not exactly out of left field to have such a tattoo. Others get viking tattoos etc. I think people read far too much into quite literally anything.
