First Score

did this as kind of a benchmark test, planning on using khan academy’s free sat courses as study material over a 3 month period and retake in august. what are the odds i can get a 1400 by August provided i study 4-6 hours a day and take a practice test weekly? i’d definitely want to focus more on math than RW, but i’m still curious on good resources for improving on the grammar part of RW

Luckily math is the easiest score to improve and within English, grammar is the easiest part to improve. You can def get to 1400+

It is doable but 4-6 hours per day is absolutely excessive and not necessary. Have a life this summer that does not revolve around SAT prep. Commit to an hour per day week days only, weekends off, and that's enough. Focus on the areas you need to improve.

You are in a great position. Forget 1400+ you are capable of hitting 1500+. Math is very easy to improve as long as you put the work in. Use khan but make sure to study concepts a lot before taking practice tests (lots of resources online for math studying). Also grammar isn’t too hard to improve there are just a lot of patterns and conventions you need to learn. Treat every practice test as the real thing, you shouldn’t be taking them super frequently. Once a week at the same time of day that you will take the real thing is what I recommend. You just need to put in the work and you will do great. Best of luck

Just like me fr. Just make sure you still practice ELA before your next try so you don’t lose your skills like I did

Absolutely doable. However, don't take a test weekly (I assume BB) because you will run of tests quick. Taking a BB test after every two weeks is better. Any other tests (non-BB) is a waste if time imo.

I am international student and English isn’t my first language. Just took my first march Sat, and got 1260(R&W 540, Math 720).

I'm always sure that I'll have the second math module, but the English module is like roulette for me, whether I'll understand the text/words or not. And I want to devote all summer to maximize my preparation, even tutoring, and my goal is 1500+. Is that realistic by August?

Assuming you are targeting 760+ Math, R&W target would be 740+ and that is a 200 point increase on that section. Not impossible but it won't be easy tbh. Before summer arrives, read as much as possible and memorize vocab. If you are planning to devote entire summer for prep then you should target Oct SAT.

This is an amazing score to get first. Math and Grammar are the EASIEST things to study and get your score up. You have the ability to push into the 1500 range

That will not be hard to improve. Just go on khan academy and practice the specific skills, since sat math is base on very direct concepts.

algebra and adv math- spam desmos bro it's just too overpowered, but have complete knowledge until AP Precalc, with Algebra concepts locked in.

geometry and problem solving- practice practice and try learning the logical thinking here, it's a very stepwise approach. Good Luck!

Go to college board sat bank of questions and only do the hard ones(mark which ones you got wrong and figure out how to do it) and then by the time you’ve finished all of them you’ll probably forget the answers so do the ones you got wrong again. Make sure to not answer the ones that are already in the practice test cycling(there’s a button for it). Look up any questions you seriously don’t get and maybe ask ai for more sample question of the same type. You can also watch the tiktoks of the sat tutors doing really hard math concepts to understand new ways of thinking and approaching problems. The best tip I can give is if you are lost on a question skip it. When you come back, just start working no matter how dumb your work looks. Last but definitely not least, learn Desmos
