Politics I feel like this sign would've worked better in landscape.
A reminder that many arts and crafts grants were cancelled when Trump killed USAID.

It is possible this man has suffered brain damage from huffing the Elmers glue fumes needed to construct this sign, (+1 for giving his own artwork the double finger...edgelord move for sure), but can someone explain this to me.
What is the witty joke this man is making?

How much Washington should raise in new tax revenue and who will pay is something state lawmakers and Gov. Bob Ferguson will hash out in the final weeks of the legislative session.
Washington’s wealthiest individuals, largest corporations and biggest banks are prime targets. Homeowners, vapers and self-storage unit renters are among those who could share in the burden. Possible tweaks to expand the state’s capital gains tax could also be in play.
“There will be a tax increase,” House Speaker Laurie Jinkins, D-Tacoma, said Wednesday. “It’s figuring out the right kind of balance and making sure we’re able to not harm everyday Washingtonians.”
... Notably, Ferguson did not express dissent on other revenue-raising measures under discussion, such as hiking taxes on large businesses and financial institutions, a new payroll tax and lifting the 1% cap on annual increases in property tax collections by the state.
... Democrats in the Senate and House have teed up four major proposals. Hearings were held this week on all of them, but no votes are planned until Democrats decide which to pursue.
... Both chambers want to erase the 1% cap on increases in the annual property tax growth for the state’s common schools levy and for cities and counties, as well as special purpose districts.

Hi, I just started a subreddit for the PNW coffee community. It's about time we have our own place to discuss our local roasters, our favorite neighborhood coffee shops, and all things coffee. Please join if you are a coffee lover. Let's get this community going!
Big thanks to the mods for allowing me to advertise it here 🙂

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — World-famous fields of tulips and daffodils have blossomed vibrantly across Skagit Valley, marking the return of the beloved (and photo-worthy) Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
...The festival is a driving tour, with fields scattered across the valley due to crop rotations. At each location, visitors can their leave their vehicles to view the acres of flowers - and the unique attractions offered by the different gardens.

Hey all! I just got back from the launch event for The Burner, a new journalism venture from Hannah Kreig, a former staffer at The Stranger. I have to say, I was impressed.
I've been in Seattle for a few years now, but feel like I'm just getting through the Seattle Freeze. As someone just starting get involved locally this was a nice gathering. I'm not someone who is super left, but leftys seem to be the ones who are into facts & transparency, so it feels good to get behind Hannah's mission- especially after speaking with her about it. She's got a fire in her belly that we all want from our local muckrakers.
If you’re fortunate enough to be in a position where you can support a few news outfits with a subscription, I'd highly recommend adding The Burner (and The Needling) to your roster.

The best view in the city is only available to some utility employees. Always disappointed the rest of us can't experience it.

Posting on both Seattle forums. This guy was in some bars yesterday on cap hill trying to fight bar staff and coming behind counters. Refusing to leave, wouldn't listen to anything, dropping homophobic slurs. Cops were called but he left before they arrived, and vandalized some machines on his way out the door. If you see him steer clear, he's very violent. Took a swing at one of the bartenders. If you see him and you're able, DM me. Very interesting in pressing charges and I'm always in the area.
