Dumbed down?
So, it seems Siri has been dumbed down. Stuff it used to be able to do, it can’t now without suggesting help from ChatGPT and can’t even give a complete weather forecast. It’s pitiful.

Hey everyone. If you have any specific questions regarding how to set up or sharing a Shortcut head over to r/shortcuts and share it over there. That way we can keep this sub focused on Siri features rather than the Shortcuts app. Thanks!

I feel like Siri on the iPhone 16 is useable. I ask to look up number it looks up something random, I ask to call it finds me directions, anyone else having issues or does Siri just suck now?

I was recently involved in a car crash and my phone was plugged in for CarPlay. I was dazed but able to say “Hey Siri, call 911”. She responded “Now calling emergency services” but then just continued to play the music that was playing when I was hit. Is this a known issue? My only other thought was my phone switching between Bluetooth for Siri and usb for CarPlay and that transition overrode the call or something?
Siri no longer lets me tell her to send a text without unlocking the screen. For example, when my phone is in the car connected to Bluetooth, the screen is obviously locked. I used to be able to just talk to it and have it send text messages for me.

How do i delete a phrase in a YouTube search using voice command? Like not my whole search history but just the phrase i just entered in the search bar. Is there a voice command for this?

Say “be not afraid” to Siri and see what responses you get. In my experience, Siri just quit.
I’m curious to see if it’s a glitch with my phone or an issue with everyone. Please share your experience

“Siri, what is the current time in Mountain Standard Time?” Answer = see pic

I will speak, and then hold the side button, say something else, and both what I said before and after will appear. It also takes 30 years to respond.

It’s in the title, but if I have a room with five lights, three are on and I said, “Turn off [room]” Siri used to turn everything off.
Recently the behavior went to on lights being turned off…however, all the off lights get turned on. It is like it is coming across as a toggle state.
AND, when I tell it to “Turn off [room] LIGHTS” it turns off everything appropriately. Is this a new “feature?”

So I said Siri, scene 2, and it gave me this response and another goofy paragraph. Any clue why it did this?

I think most would agree this response from a HomePod is infuriating.
I know that the Apple developers must serve these forums and Reddit posts. So my ask is that instead of making us all super pissed off with these inane stupid responses automatically send the result to the iPhone or make a toggle that allows it to send the result to the iPhone with our permission always.
Siri is just so F and useless (this was Siri btw) and I’m actually disappointed for many years now because it was the best in the beginning and quite easily surpassed within a couple of years and then never caught up. Rant over.

I am struggling with Siri - and I feel it is crazy that this started happening after Apple Intellignece? Any one else feeling this?

I have the latest update in my software and I have Siri turned on. I have automatically send messages and I said hey Siri send Sachin such a message and then it said what’s your message so I told it my message and it said OK and then it said, I heard the woosh sound. I look at my messages and nope nothing is sent. Is it being sent from somewhere else? Used to show up in my message app as part of the ongoing conversation.

Scenario: I’m listening to YouTube or similar app (so phone screen is on although I may be multitasking and not actually staring at the screen). I’m using my earbuds and say “Siri what time is it?” Siri puts the answer on the screen but does not say it out loud.
This is so frustrating!
I checked my settings but I don’t see one that would specifically allow Siri’s response to temporarily override the audio to provide an answer. I know the phone is capable because I can get audio alerts for other apps (teams, outlook, messages) but not Siri. Am I missing something?

“Hey Siri play Pink Floyd’s first album.” “Now playing Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.”
“Hey Siri play Pink Floyd’s second album.” “Now playing Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.”
“Hey Siri play Pink Floyd’s third album.” “Now playing Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.”
Grrrrrrr
Sounds like a stupid question but I'd like to have the similar functionality that I have with CoPilot where I can have an app/window open that shows my chat prompts and replies and not just the Siri search bar.
Currently I use CoPilot as an app on macOS (saved through Safari "Add to Dock) and it works well as a stand alone app but I would prefer to use Siri. I tried to use it as it is but it's not near as smooth where I can look back to chat history, links etc.
