Hi everyone,

To help protect our community from spam, we have implemented Reddit's spam filters, which automatically remove comments and posts from accounts that are less than 2 days old and have fewer than 2 karma points. This measure is designed to reduce the risk of spam bots flooding the community with harmful links, inappropriate language, or images.

The requirements to bypass this filter are relatively simple — an account can quickly meet them with just a single comment that's upvoted in a community that allows new users to post as well as waiting 2 days after creating your account.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out!

Our Subaru dealer gave us a tree!

In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, they offered us a choice of trees in 1 gallon pots. We chose a magnolia to go with the moonlight here. Planted two weeks ago, and it's thriving so far!

New owner here - am I missing something in regards to the driver side AC vents?

Upvotes

Brand new 2025 Outback Premium in Central Florida. The AC works great overall, however I’ve noticed the driver’s center AC vent has terrible placement and not much pressure to boot.

It’s basically guaranteed to be blocked by the steering wheel, am I missing something on how one should configure these vents/steering wheel/seat position?

I’m sure closing the rear vents would help up pressure and get more air flow, but we have kids and don’t feel like making them suffer too.

(And as a side note can you change the default AC settings to not blow on to your feet? I get it if it’s cold outside and you want heat, but if it’s 95F out the last thing I’m thinking about is cooling my toes off.)

What is this?

Hey friends, what do you think this is on my roof rack?

I wash my xt very couple of weeks and it is garaged most of the time.

This wasn't there when I washed it 2-3 weeks ago.

It appears to be rust, but not sure.

It is a 2021 and if it is rust..I don't think it should be rusting.

So I have two questions;

1.What do you think this is 2. What would you do about it if you were me.

Shoutout to the driver and the car for keeping everyone safe.

Right now I have a 15 forester XT with 98k miles and am thinking abt changing to a 3.0R Outback. I found one for 5k with 143k miles on FB marketplace and just want some input to if it’ll be a good trade or not. Carvana also offered me 8K for my specific car if that would help. Would appreciate any input as my gf and parents think it would be stupid to give up the forester.

2021 Subaru Onyx XT. Good deal?

Hello folks,

I found a 2021 Outback Onyx XT with 33k miles for $26,401. Is this a good price?

I have a friend who is an ambassador and plugged in at this dealership and his son works there as a tech. I texted him and said I wanted it for $26k out the door. Tax, tag, title. He said he'd talk to the GM tomorrow when he's back from vacation.

Is this a fair offer? And is there anything I should keep an eye out for?

My 2023 outback wilderness is starting to peel on the finish for the roof racks would this be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty? I’ve literally never used the racks

All new outback beeps super loudly w/ no explanation?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Like the title says. I’ll be driving normally and the car will make three VERY loud beeps seemingly randomly. There is no explanation or anything on the screens nor panel.

I literally got the car yesterday, but it’s been driving me insane… (pun unintended but welcome)

It’s a ALL NEW OUTBACK CVT 2.5 TOURING edition.

Here’s how it sounds (video)

Pls help 😭 if anyone knows what it is I’ll be super thankful

Hole beside vin plate on drivers door.

I was getting out of my car today and happened to look down and saw a small hole beside the vin plate. Edges seem sharp, like it was cut outside the factory. Is it from my undercoating guy or have I just never noticed? It’s a 2017 Outback. Forgot to get a photo of it. I will when I go outside.

Pricing on XT Touring?? Advice

Post image
3 Upvotes

Need help identifying if this is a good price for a 2025 outback touring XT. The dealer MSRP is $46007. They dropped it down to me to $43900. The car is in stock in the dealer. Based on my research the invoice prices are $41000ish for this model. Does anyone have any insight of this is correct?

Any suggestions if I can haggle the price down anymore based on this sticker? What are strategies you guys have done to get the dealer to come down in price.

I already called subaru and they offered me $500 for already owning another Subaru.

Any advice would greatly be appreciated!

12 GANG Wireless Switch Panel Installed

Pretty straight forward installation, pos to pos and neg to neg. It's also wireless so nothing go through the firewall. I would recommend switch panel rather than phone bluetooth app since it's just one click and safer.

Normal or concern?

I left my car at the dealership for some maintainance and had a loaner for a couple days. The loaner was a brand new 2025 with 3k miles. I never noticed how much louder my cars start up and idle is until I got in this newer car.

I know Ive got 60k more miles so some wear is to be expected but I'm curious at what point should be concerned. It doesn't sound like grinding or anything, it just sounds like it's working way harder. It never concerned me until I had something to compare it to.

I've been working through my 60k maintenance items, so it's had 3 multi point inspections from a couple different places including the dealership and they have come back all good.

Just looking to pick the brain of people who know way more about cars than me

2021 Subaru outback media not working

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi all,

Hopefully it actually let's me post this time. Just want help on this problem, don't care about karma or whatever redit uses. Trying to see if anyone has run into issues with the infotainment and media settings on their outback. A few weeks ago, the audio started cutting out while we were using blue tooth, but it was not happening while using CDs or radio. Yesterday while driving, the Bluetooth completely disconnected and the all of the media options besides the CD turned gray and did not allow them to be picked as an option. I tried restarting the car, phone, and even did a factory reset. Any help would be appreciated!

Is there a way turn the radio off?

I thought that they only way to silence the radio was to use mute.

But I just got it back from the recall software update and it said something like radio not on (I forget the exact wording). The radio was off whether or not you turned mute on/off.

Once I did activate the radio, it's been on ever since, muteable but not able to be turned off.

I'm aware you can shut the screen off by holding the volume button. But I'm referring to keeping the infotainment screen on and functional, but having the radio off -- rather than merely muted, or setting it to a silent input/station.

Thule Force 3XXL

We have a 2023 Subaru Outback Limited and looking to get a Thule cargo box. The one that seems to fit our lifestyle the most is the XXL but we are worried it might be a smidge too big for the car.

Any insight? Would we have to buy additional cross bars?

Speed limit indicator wrong

Thumbnail

2019 3.6r. For about five months, the dashboard speed limit sign indicator is completely screwy. I will drive past a 35 mph sign, and it will display 72, or some other arbitrary number. It does actually change when I pass the signs, but the number is always wrong, and not like it’s just adding 37 mph to what’s posted. It will say like 53 or 88 in a 25. The eyesight cameras which read the signs are clean and not obstructed, all other functions work fine. I originally thought that it obtained the info via gps. But I was told otherwise. Anyone else had this problem or have a fix?
