Where are we buying our underwear?

Canadian here. Through thrifting I have been slowing moving away from anything polyester in my wardrobe. However, wondering where to start when it comes to underwear. Anyone have companies they recommend?

Struggling to land a fashion buying job that aligns with my values

Hi everyone,

I’m about to finish my Master’s in merchandising and have experience working in the industry as a salesperson and an internship in sustainability. I’ve been applying to buying roles, especially at outdoor or sustainable fashion brands I genuinely believe in, but I have either been rejected or not heard back. I’ve had my resume professionally reviewed and I’ve got good experience, but it’s still been a tough search.

Now I’m at the point where I’m debating:

  • Do I hold out for a company that aligns with my values?
  • Or take a role at a company I don’t fully believe in just to get started and pivot later?

I really want to be proud of the brand I work for, something that’s not just pumping out fast fashion. But I also need something lined up after graduation (in a month), and it’s starting to feel unrealistic to be so picky.

I know a buying position doesn’t exactly scream sustainability and minimalism, but that’s what I’ve been studying for the past several years and I’m very good at it (especially excel and math), and I swear all we read in the master’s program is sustainable fashion articles.

Some brands that have values I align with are brands focused on high quality and useful garments: Arc’teryx is my top choice. They have a sustainable program (ReBird) that would feel good having in the company I work for, even if I don’t work on it, and they sell good quality clothes. Other outdoors brands would be ideal too. I looked through all the B Corp certified brands and didn’t find much.

Would love to hear your thoughts or guidance on how to go about this journey of a buying/planning role in fashion that has good values.

Thanks for your time!!

TL;DR: Finishing my Master’s and struggling to land a fashion buying job at a brand I believe in (sustainable, outdoor, ethical). Getting rejections despite solid experience. Debating whether to hold out for the right company or take any job to get my foot in the door. Looking for advice.

Brand share Clothing company that plants trees

I've got a friend that's working to make a new clothing company where every purchase that gets made, they actually plant a tree in a partnership with a non-profit organization. I have a few of his products that I bought, and I might be biased but honestly they seem really good quality for what they are. It might not be for everyone, but personally I live the more simple design and I know he's working on making other designs as well

He was willing to give me a coupon code to share with this subreddit, so if you use "TREE5" you'll get 5% off your first order, which isn't much but hey it's better than nothing

He's also looking for feedback on the brand, so if you have any please drop a comment and I'll let him know!

Jungmaven “hemp” clothing review

Post image
14 Upvotes

Just got some joggers and a bra from jungmaven and I really like the fit and support, feel lightweight- now yo see how the actual fabric holds up through wear and washes.

Right now its feeling like a good find!

27 hemp, 61 cotton 12 spandex so not 100% natural but you dont get any stretch with natural fibers unless they are wool.

Not see through!

Question Throw out vs repair underwear

Hey! I’m starting to notice that a lot of my underwear have holes and have lost their elasticity. For reference, I’ve had them for probably 6 years. Would it be best to try to repair them or buy new ones and use these as scraps? This might be a stupid question but I’m just not sure if it’s worth it to save them or not. Thanks!

First office job...no clue where to start looking for clothes

I'm a hydrologist and have previously only worked positions that were mostly in the field...so my "work uniform" was sunshirts and hiking pants. Now, I'm about to start my first office job and I feel so overwhelmed trying to find sustainable, high quality work outfits, particularly for summer time. Any suggestions for brands or outfits?

As we transition into the warmer months, finding the perfect lightweight jacket becomes essential for both comfort and style. This season, several trends are making waves in women's outerwear. Here's a curated list of standout light jackets for Spring 2025:

1. Cropped Trench Coats

A modern twist on a classic, cropped trench coats offer versatility and a chic silhouette. They provide the traditional appeal of a trench while allowing for more outfit visibility and freedom of movement. Pair it with high-waisted jeans or a midi skirt for an effortlessly stylish look.

2. Suede Jackets

Suede jackets are experiencing a resurgence, adding a touch of texture and sophistication to spring ensembles. A light beige or tan suede jacket can seamlessly complement both casual and office wear. Given their popularity, it's advisable to grab one before they sell out.

3. Quilted Jackets

Combining comfort with style, quilted jackets are perfect for those cooler spring days. Available in various patterns and colors, they can be dressed up or down, making them a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

4. Sporty Windbreakers

For a more casual and functional option, sporty windbreakers are trending this season. Designers like Miu Miu and Gucci have showcased jackets with a sporty sensibility, making them a stylish choice for unpredictable spring weather. Look for windbreakers in bold colors or with unique detailing to make a statement.

5. Packable Down Jackets

Ideal for travel or on-the-go lifestyles, packable down jackets offer warmth without the bulk. The Cotopaxi Fuego Hooded Down Jacket, for instance, has been praised for its lightweight design and vibrant color options. The woman light jackets can be easily folded into a backpack or tote, making them a practical choice for unpredictable spring weather.

Looking for Soft Stretchy Tank Top Alternative

Post image
1 Upvotes

I bought this pumiey tank top a while ago and it is my favorite tank top. I know it's not sustainably made and I'm avoiding buying from Amazon. Does anyone have reccomendations on other brands that have soft, very stretchy tank tops? I love the wider strap and the longer length. Thanks!

Seeking advice Non-wired bras

Hi all, I want to invest in a good quality, sustainably and ethically produced bra without underwires. I'm a 30E so support for bigger cup sizes is important. Every unwired bra I've had before has had absolutely no support and I want something that will give me support whilst being comfy to wear around the house.

Thank you for any help!

Question Would you buy clothing at a discount if it was a returned item? 🤔💰

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m curious – if you could buy brand-new clothing at a lower price just because it was a returned item (but still in perfect condition), would that interest you?

✅ What would convince you to buy?
✅ What would stop you from buying?
✅ How big of a discount would make you say yes?

I’m researching consumer attitudes on this topic and would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for your input. 🙌
