Discussion Saw this in one of the Facebook groups. Can someone make sense of it?

I feel, that grody did it this way to screw Mary and Janelle, bc the only land they can sell is the one they solely own. The other 2 plots they have to either buy k/r out, cause k/r wont be able to buy them out. And why does Sobyn get 54% of the total property when she didnāt even pay into the land.

God I canāt believe Iām about to do this lmao, considering I canāt stand her, but I have to defend Robyn here. She did pay into the land- her TLC share which was the main income for all of them (people seem to always forget this aspect of their finances).
That said, she should only be getting 25% - which is what this is. They each have a stake in 3 pieces, and those pieces are split in value properly. The two largest and most expensive plots are split between the four of them, and the two smaller plots are split between K/R and J/M
Now, unfortunately the only thing that I find irritating is that Meri and Janelleās sole land piece is wedged between the rest (it would be easier to sell just that piece if it was on the edge I imagine).

I would generally agree but if you take into account the debt she came in with, the perks and trips sāshe paid with her grocery moneyā and all the shopping and siphoning family money into her home and onto her walls.. I would wager she took out and spent way more than she put into that family pot.

Good points...butttt (yikes i might as well throw my hat into the ring here as well) would the show be as successful without her, though? Let's be honest with ourselves...would we really just watch cooking with christine over there or meri and blaiiirr redoing the attack space of the carriage house? Probably not...robyn brought the dramz....

u/bigskyseattle 2d ago
Definitely, the whole plot line of Kody bringing a new wife into the group was introduced in the 1st episode and it is what brought the drama (and sold it to TLC) I think people forget that.

Yes, I would say so. Kody sucks as a person, but the shit he says and does is chaotic, so that can make for interesting TV. Also, there was interesting family dynamics between/with the OG3, and I would've loved it if they got into more about their history.

Janelle and Meriās sole piece is an edge piece, of all of CP. The plot with the damn ālakeā is the plot that all four of them share.

Because she is the favored one, the perfect sisterwife who can do no wrong. She is the sisterwife who holds Koty's balls in her purple purse.

I would build a vacation house on the one they own outright. Let all the og kids use as wanted and airbnb in between to pay for it lol

u/MrsB5150 1d ago
Wouldn't that sting Kotex and Crybrows! To have the family actually gather and use the property without involving them? I would LOVE to see that!

Note the date is 3-27-25 just a few weeks away from the next "season" starting. Hopefully this will be discussed at some point.

u/bigskyseattle 2d ago
Maybe in two years they'll talk about it....I am not holding my breath that they will jump ahead and get current in this next season.

They can possibly do a partition sale, which isn't uncommon in divorces and inheritances where the recipients don't agree.
According to Dr. Google, this is the definition: A partition sale isĀ a court-ordered process where jointly owned property is sold, and the proceeds are divided among the co-owners according to their ownership percentages, resolving disputes when they cannot agree on how to manage or dispose of the property.Ā

Someone posted this on another subreddit and another poster said this gives each person including Kody about 25% of all the land. Seems fair enough to me.
2
u/AmazingArugula4441 What does the Kody do? 2d ago
Only if Robyn and Kody also gave Janelle and Meri proceeds from the sale of Martyrdom Manse. Fairest thing would have been for the lovebirds to quitclaim and let Meri and Janelle have it all.
1
u/amikavenka 2d ago
Only talking about splitting up the land by itself and not considering all the other financial issues. Yes overall Janelle and Meri deserve more. Unfortunately unless they want to litigate it this was the easiest way to the settle the land.

u/Frostygreengrapes 4d ago
Assuming the last 2 plots are relatively equal in size, then everyone has the same amount of % to their name. Kody and Robyn are seen as separate which is interesting since they are legally married and were married at the time they purchased the land. Where is the confusion? Isnāt it simple math/factions?
9
u/MzPatches65 4d ago
The 2 small lots are the same size. The 2 large plots are not equal in size, which is probably why all 4 names are on those lots. This distribution gives each of them the exact same percentage of ownership.
There is a post in another sub-reddit about the actual contract wording and what it means if anyone wants to sell. Apparently Meri and Janelle can sell their portions of the large lots without Kody and Robyn's approval. (At least that is the way I read that post).
2
u/kg51113 4d ago
From what I've read and heard, they signed paperwork where Kody and Robyn give up their claims as each other's spouse. They don't get the other's share if one of them dies. The other owners get that share. With all of the names on the big lots, it means the remaining 3 would own ā instead of Ā¼.

u/kajunkole Puhleease she abandoned MY ass 3d ago
No, exactly the opposite is true, they signed papers saying their parts are marital property with death benefits so if one does, the other gets their whole 50%
2
u/archergirl78 3d ago
They are now all four equal owners of the property and can go to court to compel a sale.

I canāt with this font. It might as well be in crayon and Iām too immature to see beyond it.

u/ConfusionHelpful4667 4d ago
Why aren't they selling?
Why are Meri and Janelle still tied to the married couple?
15
u/OhHelvetica73 4d ago
I think this is illustrating the new arrangement of who owns which parcel, so that they can now sell their rightful portions.

The deeds were changed to āequalizeā distribution.Ā
Notice Kody āgenerouslyā let J and M have the āpond.ā Ā
He probably found out the cesspool and pipes made that the least valuable piece of land.Ā
EDIT This comment is based on my idiot brain not noticing that this view is upside down compared to how we see the lots on the show.Ā
I saw upper right and thought drainage pond.
3
u/HungrySign4222 3d ago
The pond is on the plot split between the 4 of them now

u/Chemical_Author7880 3d ago edited 3d ago
No, itās not.Ā
The bulk of it is located on the top fourth of Janelle & Meriās lot, with a part of the extended shore is at the top of Robyn & Kodyās.Ā
EDITĀ As noted below and above, I canāt read a map.Ā

So, I see upper right and think pond.Ā

I think itās split up by value of each lot. If theyāre all listed on the most valuable lots then they all get an equal share when they sell. The two small lots probably have the same value.

Kody and Robyn should havenāt gotten any of it imo. They owe Janelle and Meri SO much more than that. They were always taking so much hit if the family pot. Kody has always lived off the wives

I read somewhere that Jenelle got over 300k for hers
2
u/sucker4reality 3d ago
They didn't sell it, just re-divided the ownership.
1
u/Ok_Plankton9224 2d ago
Yes I know that, but Janelle got her supposedly rightful share. Idk about Meri
1
u/Spiritual_Oil_7411 2d ago
Why divide it this way? Just put one of them on each piece, or if the larger pieces are worth more, put Janelle and meri on one large and one small and kody and Robyn on the others.
1
u/Inevitable-Opinion21 2d ago
They really need to stop making it seem like Kody and Robyn are separate

The problem is then that in order to get their money and sell, Meri and Janelle need Kody and Robyn both to agree to sell. They can still block access to M and Jās money.
Hopefully, the whole thing goes up for sale soon.
